I saw they sell them at supercarsunlimited.com if you get in a pinch.

I have that on mine as well. It's like a 5/16 npt to a 5/8 inverted flare for a 3/8 fuel line.

If you're changing the dash as well I imagine you're not doing an original restoration.
The aftermarket radios still have that "classic" look at about half the cost.

You should be good to go. I don't remember exactly how the eccentric is located in relation to tdc but mine slid in with no resistance as well. I didn't rotate the crank when I installed.

It's possible with the crazy regulations we have and have had here in Commiefornia.

The Fremont cars had the acrylic laquer on the tag.
I would assume it was laquer. But you know assumptions.
Why do you ask?

So I'm having some carb issues. Got all my fuel lines and pump sorted which I was hoping was the issue, but it wasn't.
I'm running rich and having flooding issues. When I come to a stop (At a light, etc) when I accelerate, the car will die or bog down immensely. After dying it will hard start for a bit. Recently changed the oil and there was considerable fuel in oil. Enough to smell.
I've gone back about 20 pages on the forum and while there's a few threads where carbs are touched on, compiling info in one recent thread seems like a good idea.
So for a stock 65 intake, what are the aftermarket carb options? I've seen some people say a edelbrock will fit with no adapter, some say it needs an adapter. Possibly a newer Holley that bolts up?
So what carbs have people been running and been happy with? What cfm? Hood clearance and throttle linkage issues?
Any info greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing from the pump I have to add a 3/8 npt to 5/8 inverted flare fitting adapter?

Got the fuel pump from supercars. The pressure side outlet is 9/16-20 which is for 5/16 line. Is this correct 3/8 to the pump and 5/16 from the pump to the carb?
Was a 1965 400 listed only pump.

Am I correct that a stock 65 air filter is a 13 x 2.5 ? All the parts houses are listing it as a 3".
Can anyone provide a part no. ?

Thank you. I found supercars unlimited also had one about $10 cheaper than fusick. They are also on the west coast so I figured that shipping would be faster.
Thanks for responding.

Does anyone have a good recommendation for a decent mechanical fuel pump for a 65 400?
Can't find a specific model# for a Carter, etc. There are a bunch that list the 425 and 330.
Are they all basically the same?
Thanks

Hey, upgrading to a dual master. The single pot had an adjustable push rod and 2 shims between firewall and master. The rod was held in with a cupped thick washer and a c-clip. New master has a non adjustable push rod and I just realized I needed the later model retainer cup for the rod.
My question, is there a standard measurement for the rod to know if I need both or any shims? Or should I use the adjustable rod with the cup retainer?
The assembly manual has a pic of the shim and says add (illegible). Only one though.
Btw dual master, manual 4 wheel drum.

I got the cluster over the weekend, and it's definitely contact paper. Pretty thick quality stuff, actually.
PCB is good, continuity on all traces, although some of the traces are slightly lifting off the board. I'm gonna glue them down and possibly lacquer over them after I do.
Unless anyone has a better solution?
I've been checking out making pcb boards from copper clad board, but then again with my hobbies already, the car and my "honey to do" list....the last thing I need is some other project hobby haha
The GTO dash is nice, but ide probably opt for fully custom.

Stock is 7.5 btdc but 10 degrees is probably a good starting point.
If you have an advance timing light I believe 35ish degrees at 3200-3400 rpm.
Might need to recurve the distributor for max performance.

Other than maybe the w30s 442s are cars you build because you love it, not so much an investment. There's just not the hype of the Chevelle or GTO, yet it will probably cost more because of lack of availability of body/trim parts.
That being said, here in CA 4 grand will barely get you into a decent starter car. Even ones that are a dime a dozen.
