So it's looking like we're moving from Norther Ca. to Idaho. Anyone have any recommendations on how to ship our cars out there. Need enclosed due to winter weather and the car is not running at the moment (or before moving)?
Thanks for any recs

Gotcha.
Another question, that will help jims as well i'm sure.
Who makes the correct drum replacement? All the parts houses list the drum (which I used) which works for the brakes but does not cover the flared part of the backing plate like the originals.

Joe, how are they retained by the wheel studs? I ask because I had punched out the wheel studs. The hub face was still frozen to the drum from corrosion. Not even badly corroded after getting it off, but stuck good. Obviously the studs can be frozen to drum from corrosion as well, but I didn't see any type of retention.

It's just stuck on there. A press, a sledge (not directly on the hub) and maybe some heat.
Off the car obviously.
When I redid mine I put it on a 20 ton shop press and the drum cratered big time before finally letting go.

Our old cars will soon be targets to rock throwing protesters that want to destroy everything that represent the past! Or the most badass cars in our new post-apocalyptic world like Road Warrior.

Do you mean the headlight bezel assemlies with the small grill inbetween? Not the grill correct? The grill should be mounted with bolts.
The black plastic nut insert you're speaking of is part no # 386220
If you find them somewhere please let me know. I've been looking for some too.

But I didn't/don't have the original drivers side fender (and possibly inner?) was from a cutlass and a different color than car..
You are correct the chassis manual says only the Jetway cars have the baffle on the L.H. driver's side. Never saw that, but looked it up after you mentioned it.
Regardless, it was on there. Never had a rubbing issue on there. It would only possibly touch the threaded bolt and nut on the outside of the bracket. Maybe I won't put it back on when I get the fenders back on. One less thing to paint.

From the grave was your car born with a four-speed? My car was born with the HD3 on the floor. So no, not technically a 4 speed. But same setup aside from the trans and shifter.

Looking to see if anyone has a support bracket for the hood latch / front of core support. Mine's a little worse-for-wear, needs some bending and some welding, not to mention blasting and painting. If someone has an extra that just needs a blast and paint for reasonable price, I'm interested.
Thanks,
John

Im running 225 70 r14 which are very close in diameter and I get some rub on lock in the fronts on bumps like going up the driveway. With the extra width of the 245 I would say you would probably have some rub issues. I'm running SSII 14s. Not sure of the backspacing.

Does anyone know of a distributor for the nylon nuts (black, rectangle pivot) for the headlight bezels? If these are unobtanium, which ones are you guys using?

Ony advice I have is to start spraying those cagenuts now. I spun 3 of the 4 fender to cowl bolts. That was after spraying for a couple days before. Didn't take much pressure. Haven't got around to cutting them out and replacing yet. Needed a break.
Moral of story.....don't be like me.

Anyone know of a molded hose to go from the heater return nipple on the intake to the heater core?
I can find ones that go to the valve. The csm says these cars don't use the valve, and I don't have one.

Thank you. Found the detail. For some reason I didn't find that page in my reprint assembly manual. I'll check again when I get home now that I know where it is.
I'll try the fusick mounts and report back.
