Lansing car, 56,000 miles, one owner, A/C, plastic shroud, (6 blade), I think, have to dig it out and look again. Wonder if early and late build, makes a difference?

This topic has been argued before. One guy says they came with em', one guy says they didn't. I don't know myself. But, the 56,000 A/C car that I'm working on, has one and it's a one owner car. Just had the clutch restored / rebuilt. So, I sure hope it's supposed to be on there.

I'm not criticizing. The fact that you pointed out the fact this could happen is great. Nobody on this forum wants to hear about some one getting injured or worse because a "fixed" part failed. I can weld as well as the next guy and it's just not something that I would do. There's a lot of pressure on that control arm. Besides, you said you wanted to keep it original. The General didn't put reinforcement plates around ball joints. If I had an extra control arm I'd send it to you no charge. But, I don't. Hope it works for you and GOOD LUCK!!

And there you have it boys and girls! Dave hit it right on the head! If you use epoxy, you can do it all in the same day, you just have to wait a bit on the epoxy, then just top coat. No sanding required.

Why does everybody think you need to use high heat paint on an engine? How hot do you think it gets? Ever lay your hand on the roof of a black car on a 90 degree day? Or for that matter, the hood?

I'd powder coat anything on the running gear I could. Around here, to blast and powder a frame is under $400.00. Can't spend your time and buy the material for that.

Bumper Boyz would be my last choice, just below, not having them done. Far as ball park goes, From $650 to the Moon.
