I've been a cave man for years! A old timer told me once when I was a kid, "torque wrenches are for guys who don't know there own strength"

19 inches, 6 blades with clutch and 4 tube radiator on my 65 A/C equipped vert. I'm wondering, since we have a big issue of, with or without clutches, if, they were dealer installed after the fact?

Screw it in with your fingers and hit it with the impact and call it good. If you haven't got a impact or a torque wrench, snug it up with a long bar or pipe. I never had any of that stuff when I was 16 and never had one fail. Common sense goes a long ways.

What's a real 442 worth? What ya take for yours Z? Show quality chrome is pretty close to 31K. If one does every piece on the car.

You also might check with, Sweet Manufacturing in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They do just about anything with steering boxes. They may be able to take yours and do what you want with it.

This is gonna sound a little out there but, I'd put air in all the tires and try and get some sort of even surface to set the car on. Also, how are the core support mounts and the body mounts?

They might pull it. But,not til the last minute. Seen em' do it before. After you've bought your bidders package and show up to bid/buy the car and guess what,,,,,,, it's no where to be found.

Far as I know, for years, the General had the dash and tail lights fused together. Kind of a signal to let you know your tail lights aren't working, I guess. Hard to see em' from the drivers seat.

If the owner paid to have the car restored (every nut and bolt) got "ALL" the chrome redone along with a complete interior, he's got more than that in it. Is it worth that? NO! Will he get it? Most likely not. Looking at the pictures, it doesn't look like a complete nut and bolt restoration.

Just kind of cobbled it around the starter and held in place with some wire. Not a high tech job by any means but it worked. You do have to be careful of the battery connections though, when using the wire to hold it in place.

I had another GM brand with headers and had the hot start problem. I just used a piece of that header wrap stuff (comes in small sheets) and the problem went away. Lot less $$$$ than the mini starter.
