I'll try to find out more today. It's about 80 miles from me.

BTW, Sun City is not too far so if any of you guys are interested in the block I can probably get it and work the rest out from there. For myself, I'm not interested because if I'm going to have to do that much piecing together, I want it to be a '65 block.

Talked to the guy on Friday. It's a '66 or '67 400 block. He also has "C" heads for sale and a mis-matched pair of "B" and "E" heads with roller rockers that someone was running together on a car. He said if someone comes this weekend to buy the short-block he'd still sell it for $125 but when he re-lists it on Monday it's going to be $300 because a core-charge is $300 now.
If you can't sell something, raise the price... (?)

Well, I emailed the poster, my brother emailed him, neither of us heard back and my dad and brother moved on last night. If I hear from the guy, I'll just blast up there. It's only 3 hours from here.

No problem... Can I borrow it or his backup copy? I just need to read one section then I'll send it back within a day or so of receiving it. I will also send back a donation towards his car loving hobby... not for the manual, just for his hobby because times are tough...

Piggybacking off of Jeff's post, I know a local guy here who used to rebuild the transmissions for OPGI and Classic Industries. If anyone needs a transmission I could talk to him. If you are going to have to ship it anyhow, then the prices are on par with this ebay post. I've got one of his M-21s in my car. -grant

Visalia-Tulare is north of Bakersfield, south of Fresno. Small California farm towns. My uncle lives in Tulare and my dad is there today. Too bad he has that '65 Holiday Coupe parts car I bought on his trailer.
I'm trying to find out if it's still available and I'll ask my dad to look at it.

Thanks Bubba and Jasen! I missed that on the website. Was thinking about getting them from www.thepartsplaceinc.com (cheaper than OPGI) but mine are in good shape, just faded. Maybe I'll try this first. -grant

You will want to have the engine in. If you get it straight without the engine in, once you add the weight it will change the geometry and you'll have to do it again to get it right. I've done alignments on Corvettes but never an A-body. We also used a fancy laser DIY kit that mounted to the outside lip of the rim, which wasn't all that great in my opinion. I won't tell you that you shouldn't or can't get it right doing it yourself, but I haven't had much luck and would gladly pay an expert to get it right.

Web Album Generator is a really easy to use, free program that will downsize photos to the size you want in a matter of minutes. Just create the web album, put it where you want, and you'll have 800 x 600 or whatever you specify. There's more functionality too, but I usually just delete what's left over. download.cnet.com/Web-Album-Generator/3000-12511_4-10116395.htmlLet's see those pics! -grant

Hey Big Mike, That's a great parts source. I hadn't heard about that one before.
That would be a good addition to the forum. A section listing links and/or contact info for good parts sources.

not for a 442. This is cool though and I thought you guys would appreciate it. Went to a barbecue tonight and the host had this pie plate hanging on his fence. It came off a 455 that was in a motorhome. The motorhome burned to the ground and the 455 went somewhere else. This is all he has left. He also showed me the factory tachometer from his mom's 1965 Cutlass that she had bought new, which was displayed with some other cool stuff in his living room.

Alright, Pics finally. The only rust on the car that I can find Windshield cracked from an accident I assume. Looks like the passenger did a number with his knee too. Data Plate. Fremont Car(?) Lucerne Mist with Blue Interior. ZERO options I guess. replacement fenders. a little bondo in them. wheel arch trim is in pretty good shape. console. dont see any cracks but it's brittle. Shows the original Lucerne Mist color. Nice color. AND the bad part. How I missed this, I can't explain. The frame is tweaked from an accident. The driver's side front tire is pushed back two inches compared to the passenger side. Right behind the A-arm mounts it's buckled. It was tucked into a corner in such a way that I didn't see it when I bought it. Not sure how that will change the plans for the car.
