Finally getting back to my Mojave Mist '65 Sports Coupe 442. Over the years, a couple parts have gone missing. One is the rail or slider for the driver's power bucket seat. It's only one side that's missing. I believe it's the door side which slides freely (non-motor operated side). Having a hard time finding one. Seems '64 and '65 were unique.

From Destination zip 32129 to destination 98295 (Florida to Washington) Just curious who on the forum is up in 98295? Or are you just shipping to the border to have it picked up? My 442 is about 5 miles from there. That's where I grew up. -Grant

I ran across this recently when borrowing my buddy's pressure washer. He told me to return it full of non-ethanol fuel, so I had to do some research. And you are right, looks tough in California. www.pure-gas.org/extensions/map.html

Since I run all my music through my phone (via Spotify) I plan to put my stock radio head unit in but not even hook it up. Instead, I am going to run this Bluetooth Amplifier (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UTXQL74) which I can easily hide under the seat and control it from my phone. My car originally had a single speaker in the rear but I am probably going to get a 2-speaker package tray and put some decent 6x9" speakers in, potentially with some enclosures.
Just an option if you're smart phone savvy.

Make sure your float levels are correct as well. Was having a similar issue (different vehicle) but only when everything got nice and warm and that turned out to be the float level needed to be adjusted.
I will be running a QuadraJet on my '65. I found one from a '74 Super Duty and have been doing some research on adjustments to make. I'll be using a '66 spread-bore intake so it remains relatively stock looking to the average person.
The Olds guru who helped with some work on my engine said to run at least a 750cfm Holley or a 850cfm Q-Jet and get as much fuel into the car as possible which would help keep engine temp down, which the 400ci's are notorious for suffering from. (my engine is just a mild cam, headers, with Ultra-High Compression of course).

I ended up going with what appears to be Hooker replicas. They might even be Hookers, but they don't have anything stamped on them. Got them from a member here (Brian). They fit really well, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they were "bolt-up". Installation wasn't terrible, but we had to pull the starter, lift the engine a little on the driver's side, and use a large pipe to fine-tune it... etc. If I remember correctly, they hit on the upper A-arm just barely, so rather than cut the A-arm we dimpled the header. (tiny dimple). They sound great connected to 2 1/2" dual pipes through 2-chamber Flowmasters. Will know better once I get it out on the road later this year. I am quite sure they are the exact same as the Hooker 3902HKR. That would be my suggestion. Under $300 at Summit or Jegs. Good luck, Grant

I think this may be a forum member's former car. Does anyone else recognize it? www.ebay.com/itm/191918553115What caught my eye was the data plate. There is no 4V that I can see. www.flickr.com/photos/141282928@N08/sets/72157669148449090/ (last photo) Oh, that an that it's a rare 425ci that "were only put in the early 65 models". (even though it has a build date of 3rd week of March and the engine is bronze). I think they have that part wrong and would be smart to correct it. If it were a 4spd, I might consider bidding, I am just not interested in an auto. (personal preference). -Grant

Just returned from a few weeks in Australia. I did get a solid week of work done on the Sports Coupe earlier in the year. I have collected almost all the parts I need (just need two sections of wiring harness) so it just needs to be put back together now. Oh, I got the engine buttoned up and started... one of the bigger milestones. It runs great.
