Pretty car, but no longer a 442, Just a Chevy in disguise! But, I'd be willing to bet it brings more on the block than a perfect, real 442 would bring.

So basically TEN TIMES the cost of a real 442? How stupid are people? And what is it about LS motors? Why do you want a motor that so embarrasses you that you have to disguise it. Is this the mandatory LS swap kit?

One thing great about classic cars is people are starting to appreciate them again, but with that comes change. Classic lines with modern technology. A mighty steep price but great to see a 65 get its day...might bring the value of these beautiful cars up across the board. Thankfully we are a non judgmental bunch...that car was a work of art.

That is the classic car of the future, us old farts will be history someday and so will our original cars, the new technology and change can not be stopped, big wheels, overdrive manuals and automatics, LS engines, the list goes on. I love the way that car turned out, but WAY out of my league.

Well said Roger.. We need to remember many of these cars are returning from the grave. It’s the next generation making them appealing again.

That is the classic car of the future,
Not sure how adding a bunch of new generic stuff and a bellybutton motor makes it "classic"...

Classic Noun: a work of art of recognized and established value. Adjective: judged over a period of time to be of the highest quality and outstanding of its kind.
Seems to check the boxes of a classic. work of art (check), established value (check), judged over period of time (check), highest quality and outstanding (check)

Being retired from the body shop business, I really appreciate the beautiful metal, paint and trim work on a SEMA show car, but that is an Oldsmobile based custom, not a 442. They could have pulled it off with a Rambler if they wanted. The reality is that pure collector cars get old, and appeal becomes limited. New stuff is the new cool. I predict it is just a matter of time before we see someone convert a 442 into a an electric, capable of easy 10 second quarter miles times, with a rear floor full of batteries. Is a 442 still a 442 when you put a Roadster Shop chassis under it, or an LS in it? NOT! The "Getter" is a piece of automotive art, I appreciate only as such. That being said, I always pray the the "Greater asshole theory" will apply when I have something for sale, and some fool will pay me way more than I have in the car. Kudos to the builder for a successful business venture!
