I have some parts for sale among them is a new in box set of 65 Olds 442/Cutlass bucket seat bottom springs I purchased from Year One but never used. Someone from this site was interested and wanted to know the price and shipping. I checked with USPS and FEDEX and another site but the shipping prices seemed very high. Two wanted more than $100 and another $85. the box weighs 10 lbs and measures 30"X 28" X 11" (LHW). From Destination zip 32129 to destination 98295 (Florida to Washington) Any ideas or suggestions on cheapest shipping would really be appreciaed,
Thanks in advance for any help,
John

john, look through the site, someone in the past posted info on using "Fastenal" as a shipper. I have had good luck going through Uship. They post to LTL shippers, independents, who bid on the load. I think there is an option for you to offer what you want to pay, too. With UPS and FEDEX, the size is more costly than the weight. Did you see what two small boxes would cost? Sometimes I find Post Office is the cheapest. Good luck.

From Destination zip 32129 to destination 98295 (Florida to Washington) Just curious who on the forum is up in 98295? Or are you just shipping to the border to have it picked up? My 442 is about 5 miles from there. That's where I grew up. -Grant

one of the members here was interested in new bucket seat bottom springs I have. That is his zip code. I couldn't ship them for a reasonable cost and I did not know how he could pay via my pay pal without giving out my account info, something I'd rather not do.

Give out your account info? All paypal needs is your email or phone number - whatever is linked to your account. Now, if you don't have a paypal account, that's a different problem. Heck, you can even just set up an invoice on paypal and bill him directly.

Joe,
Thanks for the information. I was not aware Paypal could be used securely like that. John

I have shipped tons of parts using UPS and Fedex. That $100 quote for 10 lb box had to be incorrect. $20-25 would be more like it. I just shipped a 45 lb box that was 36" x 36" x 17" for $50. You need to make sure you check off the correct info.

John, I forgot to mention this before, but being in Florida, and sending a lot of stuff to Arizona, I have found that when I ship UPS or FEDEX ground, it usually goes by air, anyway because I guess it is easier for them. I never pay the higher rates, and rarely have delayed shipments. good luck.

I've had great results with both Fastenall and Greyhound. Both are great for large items like body parts. Fastenall is great on heavy items as well.

I agree with Big Mike, I've used Fatenall and Greyhound with good results and great pricing.
