What do you have to do to account for the additional "space" the adapter creates? Place spacers between the flywheel and torque convertor where they bolt together? They send a spacer with it, and washers to go between the flywheel and torque convertor! It was a nice fitting piece, its on now, hopefully we will get the shifter and throttle moved tonight to where we can put the transmission in! I picked up the Fast ez tcu www.tciauto.com/tc/ez-tcutm-transmission-control-unit-gm-4l60-4l65-4l70-4l80-and-4l85e-to-09html/system this weekend! I'm anxious to drive it and see the amount of control this system has over the trans!

Hi, new member to the board and would appreciate some advice from engine saavy members. I didn't know if introductions were needed, but basically, my two Sons and I build hot rods as hobbyists and we are in Florida. We are more fabricators than we are engine builders, so things like cam selection, etc are not our area of expertise, that is why I need some good advice from people who are good at this stuff. My one Son has a 1930 Ford roadster pickup (probably about 2200 pounds), with a 40 over 455 Olds in it. Speedpro L2323 pistons, supposedly about 9 or 9.5 to 1 compression. Using 66 Olds "C" heads that have been reworked with Crowler spring kit and Stainless steel valves. He is running two Edelbrock 600 cfm carbs on an Offy intake, 3000 stall convertor, and 4.11 gears with 31 inch tires on back. Running open headers. When we built the car 5 years ago we used a Comp Cam 280 H cam and kit because he wanted an aggressive idle. The cam specs are: Duration @.50 230. Lift on intake and exh is .49. 110 lobe separation. 2000-6000 range. It has a great idle, but the car is strictly street driven and it lacks some off the line low end performance. We have the heads off now to have some guides redone and are going to pull that cam out. He only has about 2000 miles on it, but feels a milder cam would work better. We called Crowler Cams and they suggest their 56262 which specs out at duration of 215 intake and 221 exh. Lift is .488 intake and .494 exh. Lobe separation is 112 degrees, and operating range is about 1600 to 5000, approx. We also called Crane Cams, and they suggest their 804542 kit that specs out at 216 intake and 228 exh. Lift is .484 intake and .512 exh. Lobe separation is 112 and operating range is 2000-5000. Like I mentioned, the car is strictly street driven, mostly around town, so bottom end is important but he also wants to keep a decent hot rod idle. If you were doing this, which cam would you think would be best, or is there another option ? Thanks in advance for any advice. Don Welcome to the group, there are a lot of nice guys in here. this is just my personal opinion which may not matter to anyone but me but I am not a big fan of "BOX" cams, they were designed to work with a multitude of combinations but they don't seem to work "GREAT" with any combination. My last few cams have been custom ground by Mark Remmel (he goes by Cutlassefi on some of the Olds forums) I have had incredible results with his cams. I can give you his contact info if needed. My current 455 is making 548 hp 578 tq with a stock bottom end, bored . 60, good head work and a roller cam that Mark ground.

Another session to the dyno after a few minor changes.... Car is now on the lift for the following (not in this particular order) 1)Move Lokar pedal away from floorpan angle to firewall (we were having trouble getting WOT due to angle of floorpan vs pedal travel! 2) Drill and pin the D coupling from IDIDIT steering column to steering shaft (factory design is poor) 3) brace steering column inside for added security/rigidity 4) move aftermarket shifter back on trans hump 4 inches (too close to dash for my personal liking) 5)Install engine, and 4L80E tranny, new cross member, ARH headers etc, measure new driveshaft for modification 6) Install Aeromotive Phantom looping fuel system into stock (NEW) tank and plumb everything with Braided PTFE hose, 8AN from tank to firewall mounted regulator, 8AN return from regulator to tank, dual 6AN to carb log 7)Install Fast EZ TCU wiring and hand held computer, throttle position sensor etc 8) recheck all electrical plumbing, connections, etc 9) mock up Spintech 3" exhaust, X-pipe, tail pipes etc, remove for Cerakote process 10) Install Moser 12 bolt 3:73 rear end with Disc brakes 11) reinstall exhaust, driveshaft etc ORDER DOT SLICKS lol lol HAVE FUN

I met Jason Rushforth on the power tour. I actually spent the evening with him, dinner, drinks etc. He is an absolute genuine person, very realistic and down to earth, his story is amazing about getting into the wheel business. He still text messages me invites me to events and is one of the FINEST human beings I have ever met. He is a Buick Olds Pontiac fanatic and you can deal with him directly, he knows our cars and can offer realistic suggestions. After meeting him and the conversations we have had, I will never buy any wheel but a Rushforth, he never once tried to sell me anything. He is an incredible asset to the wheel industry

christ, that thing looks awesome, cool belt drive, what heads are those? cant see in the pics Those are Edelbrocks, they were slightly ported at first, then I sent them out to be really worked over, 2.17/1.67 valves, major port work etc. There was major issues with the work so I had to have them done again. Cam changed to hyd roller. MONGOOSE That is the March system although we have had to modify some things!

I installed a set of M/T polished valve covers, and they looked great. But they don't stay that way, I guess the heat tarnishes them. The polishing process is a big factor and upkeep as well. To have a longer lasting shine the covers need to be outgassed first, and then maintained as well. Depending on who polished them and how they did it could be a factor!

Hi guys,
I ran across a full set of belt line trim and a set of tail lights. I have a spare set so I might sell these, they are being rechromed currently, I am trying to get a ballpark of value. I know all the variables: quality of chrome, etc etc. The shop I used only does show chrome and they do a very fine job of it, they aren't cheap and the nickel is a better grade than your lower end chrome shops. So assuming that they have done a very good job and the product is show worthy what kind of ball park am I looking at?
