Many of you have seen the build thread! Momma says we have to have a retaining wall. A VERY LARGE retaining wall! I have listed the car for sale on Ebay. I honestly have over 50K in it, I don't think you could build the engine and buy the aftermarket parts installed on the car for what the reserve is! The car is not perfect, it has an older paint job, a couple of dents but the build thread over here and on Classic Olds tell the whole story! It runs AMAZING, its very strong, handles and rides like a new sports car! Feel free to e-mail me at marksessco@aol.com www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Oldsmobile-442-Cutlass-/112319013367

looks good, what did you use for washers? generic pump? I believe they offer the washers as an add on to the kit, but I did not get that option!

a few months back I posted about needing a windshield wiper motor.... my original which was pretty rare (I found out after the fact) was given to the parts store as a core and shipped off before I realized what the guy had done who was working on the car.... so none of the parts houses had a WW motor, I called one of the Olds vendors who wanted 650.00 for one...OUCH.. In my thread I mentioned a part number from Newport Engineering but no one knew if it would work, it was classified as a WW motor for a 65 chevelle. I took a chance and ordered one, (with wipers, blades, and a delay switch) from Newport Engineering for a 65 Chevelle, WOW it dropped right into place, works excellent.... I already had a billet WW switch in place so we wired it to it (no delay) and it worked perfect, wired the supplied delay switch and it to worked perfect, the unit looks to be very high quality! Here is the link newportwipers.com/product/1964-65-chevy-chevelle-original-can-style-motor/#wiper-motor

This is the best picture I can find of it, but I have ordered 5 wiper motors and none of them seem to be what came off the car. it was a 3 wire plug, the old motor is now gone, any ideas?

Sounds awesome! The idle is really nice, and I like the "silky edginess" of the exhaust tone when you dial the throttle up! Thank you Sir!, I am hoping it comes home to the garage in the next week or so! I seem to miss car show season every year, I am bummed about the hood, I will be forced to run a cowl and I am having a hard time finding a cowl hood that if not a lift off or pin down type hood. I have contemplated changing the intake but I really don't want to do that either. On a side note the truck is coming along rather quickly, I hope to have it on the road in 6 weeks!

We lowered mine about 2-1/2-3" I am not sure if the springs are out there, they should be but a simple spring swap should work fine!

If your question is, can you eliminate the aux trans cooler, yeah, but... Heat is the enemy of an automatic trans. I'd keep the aux cooler if at all possible. X-2 I am running a smaller thermostatically controlled secondary cooler to the left side (looking at the front of the car) of the A/C condenser in front of the radiator. You should have plenty of room if you pay attention to the width of the secondary trans. cooler!

I didn`t see your "Sale Pending" post when I posted "too rich for me" We were logged in at the same time and posted on top of each other, please don`t think I was being facetious. Just shows how out of touch I am with prices, could be a little geographical difference too, these members are still around this area. Good luck with your sale No biggie Dave. These things aren't cheap though, a moser 12 bolt will run you 2500-3500 with brakes. 600 isn't a bad deal for a good rear, with good posi, good bearings and new brakes, about 15 minutes after the first party agreed to take it another called from my home town and wanted it but it was already spoken for. I think my neighbor just paid 275.00 for a bare housing to rebuild.

Guys, I have the original rear end out of my 65 442 for sale. 485 miles I had the rear end inspected for gear and bearing wear, new drum brakes were installed, the rear end was wire brushed, cleaned and coated with POR 15. It is in excellent condition! It is a 3:23 Posi and works perfect! I will be ready to drive the new setup in a few weeks, The new cam wouldn't be so happy with the 3:23 so I purchased a Moser rear end with a 3:73 to replace the original. The springs do not come with it, but new brake lines, new brakes, new drums do! Located outside of Asheville NC! 600.00 OBO
