Seems like we have hit the wall with new members. I think by making it open to the other early 442s we might get more people to come here and get some more activity. Not saying what we have sucks, but one has to admit this place does not get a lot traffic. I think we can take this forum further by making our audience larger.
What does everyone else think? Keep it small and 65 only or try to grow the forum and go 64-67?

No reason why I see that it can't be opened up to other early Oldsmobiles.... the focus can still be on the 64/65's!?!

Seems like you should at least stay pre-68. Reason being, it's a whole different car,,,,,,,,,,,,, sort of. But what do I know, I'm just a rookie.

I think it would be a nice addition to this site. I know the 65 guys have the only site dedicated to their cars and it would be different having the 64-67 cars added. I liken it to the mid year Corvette forums,63-67 because of the similar body styles. We all know the differences of the 64-67 cars but they are very similar in a lot of ways. The same thing goes for the 68-72 cars, they are very similar. Any website needs traffic and if this site has stalled @ a certain # of members, maybe adding the 64-66/67 cars will add members and traffic. I have really enjoyed this site as is,I've learned a lot about the 65's that I didn't know. I'm all for it and will spread the word if the decision is made to include the other years.

I voted no and I don't even have a 65. LOL But I guess as long as it doesn't go all the way to the 70-72 belly button cars.

I really like the fact that this site is centered on the 65. Almost everything posted can somehow be related to my car.
However I do see where you're coming from. As long as I have my 65 and you guys will let me hang around, I'll be here. Just please cap it at 67 lol

I'm inclined to say no... just because as was said before, it's nice to know that every post could have relevancy to my car. There are other sites that have a broader range... I started with those... and found after a while that I skipped most of the postings as they weren't really relevant to my car... and the majority of the posters were just bitchin' or beating their chest (egos). Not to say we don't have some egos here...

Personally I would be game to make it an official 64/65 site and the 66 and 67 guys can hang out just as the 64's do. But that's just my personal opinion. And I also think that it's nice to have new stuff posted every day but it's not a necessity, more traffic on the site may not make the site better. The 64/65 cars are basically the same, as are the 66/67 cars. I think there is enough difference between the two groups to keep them separate.

I guess it depends on if the objective is to increase the number of clicks you get on the site, or have a forum tailored to a specific interest? Agree it's nice to be able to log on, do a quick scan, and know most everything relates to a 65. Expanding to 67 will result in much more traffic, but also will result in the 65's slowly being buried. I think expanding to 64/65 makes sense, but I would be cautious growing to include the 66 and 67. Great cars and people, but also, a much larger group.

I'm for the 64/65 thing, more of our parts interchange than just floor pans and rocker panels. Can you add that as a 3rd option?

If I go the route I am thinking of going, there would be separate forums for each year. Keep the lounge, members rides, and for sale sections as they are. So there isnt going to be anything getting buried. I know you guys like having it 65 only, but the fact is the board is stagnant and has been for a long time. Four years in and we are still less than 300 members and of those 300 not many post.
Boards need active members to survive. Even with the added scope I dont see the board getting huge.

If you went that route, then maybe expanding wouldn't be a bad idea. I know in my case I look first thing in the morning/at night. Scan for any interesting news/topics/debates/tips. Really a matter of available time not lack of interest.

Yes, Yes, Yes. This is a great group of 65 owners with a few 66 and 7's mixed in already. So why not include them. I like the idea.

Its all on my site and on Bros site. And there would be a 65 only forum. Seriously there is not a site for 64s and 66s that compares to Bros and mine. I have a lot of webspace available and I could build a site for both years. We could take this thing to the next level and make it the spot for 64-67 442 owners. And not sacrifice the smallness that we have now by keeping the years separate.
