Ive watched you guys going back and forth and back again. Personally, I couldnt have done what I have without the site and I for one would miss it. I'd live and do fine but I would miss it. I started with CO and they were very helpful with certain things but not specific items I needed. There are a few hundred members here now, a couple years ago, there was talk of shutting it down because of lack of membership. I log in everyday and see many people have already been to the site. Do we really care if they post? I certainly dont because I figure they are learning what they need by reading the information. If they need something, they do ask. but honestly, badgering folks wouldnt make me put anything up. In fact it would discourage me and maybe it is them too? Ive been here for awhile and watched it grow like a fine wine. Slow but sure. More folks are involved, some short term like Andy who got his fix and car done then wandered off. Some stay forever. I dont mind the nice job atta boy comments either. It's reassuring and shows folks are interested. But to Post's point if thats what it becomes its a bit senseless. Jason, in your mind it seems you are at a crossroads similar to big small companies. Do you stay the same, merge, grow organically or close shop. Ive always viewed this site as a niche place that was specific to my cars. I still visit CO and ROP frequently for various reasons but spend my time here. I like it for what it is but would also like it if it was expanded. In fact might just enjoy it more. While Ive really just said a lot of nothing the point is, make a decision and do what you want to as the constent uncertainty is not adding value to either position. This is only the opinion of an ignorant west coast alien but I did post something.

I have been asked to volunteer my opinion previously on this site and what I have to offer is not always necessarily appreciated but that's ok. At least I have the opportunity to post what I think. I like to call a spade a SPADE and not a shovel! So right up front I'll be the 18th vote to keep this forum basically 1965. If I owned a 64, 66, or 67 442, then I would have a vested interest in expanding the forum to these other Oldsmobiles which I appreciate and admire; however, because I own a '65, that's the reason I read daily and post occasionally on a forum that focuses mainly on the '65 442.

I feel more traffic will do the site good. ALL OF US have owned cars from these years, and because of the parts interchangability, I think they should be added. JMGDO

Almost a full month since this thread was started, better than 2 weeks since last post. I`ve followed the new posts a little more closely since the poll was started. Quite frankly, I don`t see any increase in traffic, if anything there`s less than before the poll started. I realize there`s been a holiday, and spring has sprung, but with everyone getting there cars out of mothballs and working on there cars more with the warmer weather, wouldn`t you think there`d be more posts? I`ve checked on other sites and there seems to be no slow down.
I was told by someone close, that perhaps I should get a hobby ! I understand there reasoning, but I have hobbies and this site is one of them. Wouldn`t I be just dropping one hobby for another? I`ve got plenty of projects, but do enjoy checking in here to see what`s new. Lately that accounts for 2 to 3 minutes of my day.
I`ve noticed a few new members recently, I don`t believe there`s been any posts tho. I think one of the new members is recycled if I`m not mistaken, can`t figure that one out.

I'm just tickled that this site exists at all. I've owned both 64's and 65's and have no interest in anything else (well maybe a tri-carb 66 or another 49 or 50). I don't post much 'cause all my plans have stalled at the moment and no one wants to hear that but I'm here at least twice a day enjoying those who are already "there" and those still on the path. Other than 2 Auroras, all my Olds are 64 and 65 and none of them are operational at the moment....
BUT, because of this site I still have hope, it serves as my inspiration to see what the rest of you have accomplished.
Thanks!

My opinion? Keep it 64-67. Everyone else has a '68 and up. I have a '66. My roomy has a '65. His is here so we work on it until I get mine out of the body shop then the tide will change. The square bodies as I call them get no love.

I was just on another site I belong to, it`s rather obscure, not one of the sites anyone here would frequent. Anywhooo, was noticing a few things. First, there`s over 2000 members, there are about 10 categories to choose from when you log on, some of those main categories have up to 10 sub-categories !! The site is neither year specific, nor is it make/model specific. I`m not in any way bashing this site, as a matter of fact I really enjoy going there, wealth of information, good and bad and everywhere in between. It`s a pain in the ass to navigate for specifics because, like here the threads tend to wander off topic. Another similarity is the fact that few contribute. Most times there will be over 100 guests, with the same members that actually log in. And if anyone is wondering, there`s scuffles that break out, much like here, no where near as bad as some other sites. And again if your wondering, I have NEVER been involved in one, EVER !! With all the different years, makes, model cars involved on this site the one thing I`ve noticed is people with different cars will chime in to help with another model if there`s any similarity, or if the problem or question isn`t specific to year make model. It works well that way.
Not here to sway any minds, or start any arguments, just thought I`d "T.T.T." with this thread
