Glad to hear your comfy. I'm gettin' pretty sick of this crap here, around 10 below this morning, the lake keeps us SOoooo warm. We heat with good ol' natural gas here, so that helps, but, the heat bill is still a killer. Hope nobodys out in the cold around the forum and all is well!

A 235-60-15 is 9.25 inches wide. Google a tire interchange chart and you can get complete list of sizes and comparison's.

Ok, I took a couple of pictures. We'll see if I can get em' on here. The panel isn't perfect if one really studies it but it was pitted pretty bad too. I'd say, they did a nice job. But, like every thing else, we always wish for more. I would think the only way to get a perfect one would be , start with an NOS one, then have it chromed. Couldn't load the pictures,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, comes up, error, forum has reached attachment limit.

That's the problem. GM threw some plating on a hunk of material and called it good. For the platers to do a quality job that will hold up, they have to fix and fill and buff and fill again then plate and buff and by the time all that's done it's too nice. That's why, (as an example) the air cleaners don't come out correct, too much material on em'.

John Wright's Custom Chrome Plating, Grafton,Ohio. 963 Mechanic st (440) 926-3116 I had all of my chrome for the 442 done there as a package so I don't know what the cost of the tail panel was to do and I've never unwraped it to look at it, but, I guess I will. I do know the bumpers were 4 grand of the total price. The one thing that they absolutly wouldn't do like it should be, was the air cleaner. They have three price ranges and stand behind everything 100%. It's a first class place all the way! Super people, but, expensive. They do Riddler cars. Cars for Pebble beach. Also, as Shane said, Jay Leno and on and on.

Anybody happen to have a good picture of, inside of the trunk on a 65 that shows how the factory put there nasty caulk around the wheel wells? I'm pretty sure it's pretty sloppy, but, I just wondered how sloppy?

I guess it's hard to ask this question so it makes sense. Looking at the bottom of the car, could you get a measuremet from the mount hole on the bottom of the trunk to the bottom of the 1/4 behinde the rear tire? I think it's 9 or 10 inches? In other words, I'm wondering how far the bottom of the 1/4 is rolled in, just behinde the rear tire? I would really appreciate the help.

We can debate oil filters til' the sun sets in the East. Does one want flow or clean? Guess if I was looking for both, I'd spend the extra money and buy a race filter. If I wanted, just flow, Ray Baker used AC filters on his race engines. For clean, I think it would be hard to beat a Hastings filter. They have a very heavy fiber inside. But, I doubt they flow very good. A lot of oil filters are made in North Carolina, does that mean they all are made by the same company? Don't know about oil filters, but, cheap air filters have less folds in them than the more expensive ones do. I've used em' all over the years. Never had one leak, or, an oil filter related engine failure. The debate continues.

Ah, another Government Motors bill of goods. Sell it and buy something else. Not much use for a car that they can't even paint the door jambs on and an engine that looks like its made out of silver styrofoam.

Looks cheap cheap cheap. If you want it to look almost like chrome there are products that go on like paint that will look better.
