Looking at the belt diagram' I notice that the diagram for A/C and power steering shows part #390819 a 49 5/8 belt. Anyone know where to get the proper reproduction belt? Inline tube sells one they claim is for that application but is too short. Tried the H.D. cooling one, it's too long. Suggestions??

I used there kit on a different brand car. It worked well. Bought it directly from Right Stuff. Nice people to deal with at the time and fast shipping.

There's a lot of difference in radiators. Tube thickness, how far are they spaced, how many fins up and down etc. etc. As I said before, I didn't know what I should get and the guy at U.S. radiator walked me through it and I ended up with a good quality piece that worked out fine. But, since the place has changed hands???

Far as I'm concerned quality was excellent. I wasn't sure what I wanted and they were very helpful. But, if it's changed hands who knows...

I've had good luck with U.S. Radiator out of California. I've been treated well and the service was excellent. Not cheap! I ordered on the phone , not on-line. Just looked em' up again and it only shows being in Alabama. ??

I'm not a 100% sure on this, but you'll probably have to get the heater control unit in the dash worked on. When it's switched to A/C it's not telling the compressor to run. So someone just put a hot wire to it to turn on and off.

Bro, I've used a product called "Fresh Cab" with good success. It has kind of an organic smell that isn't too bad. I buy it at Tractor Supply or on-line.

As far as alignment tolerances go, the assembly manual shows plus or minus 3/16 on everything for 1965. That's a lot by today's standards

I'm sure this is on here somewhere, but i'm not finding it. What are the torque specs for the frame to body mount bolts? The assembly manual shows 25 to 35 ft. lbs. . That can't be correct??

I did a Pontiac with panel bond, years ago and as far as I know it's still fine. But, you should still resistance weld it. With "Murphy's" law in mind, I'd at least remove the pad. But still, buy the new part first, so you can see how you need to do the cutting. I use 3M #8115 all the time for bonding things. You can also use #8223 but it's a lot faster set time.

There is no pinch weld. It goes from the cowl vent, right to the dash. Buy the new part before you start hacking and it will be pretty much self explanatory.

No thanks needed Mike! Glad to hear you got it OK. In this day and age, one never knows about the U.S. Snail service. AGAIN, without this forum, I doubt that one of these "one year only" cars could be redone. I've received waaaayyyyyyy more help than I could have ever hoped for!!!!!
