I found my much needed window part yesterday, along with a lot of spare door, window and fender trim in excellent condition. I also picked up a 1965 425 A block and heads. I am now in need of a good 425 crank and rods.

I have a good crank and rods, still in a running, quiet, 40+ psi oil pressure "A" block.

Postcar, I sent you a e-mail tonight. On another note, I am jumping on this 425 build, obviously I have the A heads which I am not going to use, I dont mind spending 1500-2200 on a good set of heads, my goal is to make 470-520 hp with a very streetable 425. From what I have seen it should be a realistic goal with a stock crank, stock rods, good pistons, very good cam/head/intake package. My thought process was a custom grind cam, ported edelbrock alum heads and an intake to match. Any suggestions? I am also leaning towards a 200R4 tranny. The car will not be raced, I'm sure it will be run hard from time to time but mostly a cruiser and some highway travel to events and Rod Runs. I talked with a local transmission guy that told me due to the electronic valve bodies etc i couldnt run a 200R4 in that car without a computer? Every car I ever built was a straight drive so I am really confused about this? HELP haha

I`m guessing your trans guy knows more than me, been a few years since I messed with the electric 4R`s. Never knew you needed anything but a good transmission, the correct converter, 12v power, brake pedal switch, and a properly adjusted TV cable. And I`m not getting in to the whole 425 thing !

Just bringing up an old thread, Wow it seems like it was years ago that I was posting all this, anyway back to page2/3 of this thread, the 3D vin code, I am curious as to what it is? I seen the comment about door edge guards, in which they could have been removed, but I dont see any signs, I can check for filler etc ?

They should just slip on,and not leave much evidence when they are removed, except non faded paint beneath. ---bil
