O.K. oldsproject and kanskid, figure out if this is what you think you have. This is the illustrated 27 series. There`s nothing else in the quarter cavity, just this stuff, laid out as pictured. K-kid, "D" is the guide rail that the nylon notched guide attached to the bottom of the glass follows as the glass goes up/down. It`s not a brace. If nothing else, this thread has gotten me used to photobucket I guess, hotter than hell here too, humidity is like crazy. The water comin out of my A/C sounds like a horse pissin on a flat rock !! Nailed it!! That is exactly what Ive been trying to explain from the first post. Guess my en ga leash aint so good ;D Kinda sad when several half assed smart folk (i myself a little less than half) can`t do in 3 pages of text what one single picture can do. Rather humbling. Thanks to you guys for sticking with this

It is true one picture is worth a thousand words. Now, postcar, are you interested in selling the vertical pieces and the top and rear-slanted pieces that are like the ones Big Mike posted? Are the felts pretty good in those pieces, or do you know of a place that offers new felts?

Are the felts pretty good in those pieces, or do you know of a place that offers new felts? Pretty much anything I have is for sale. Here`s the situation, I have another post car that I want to first make sure will be covered for parts should I, or someone else ever decide to finish. This thread has got me second guessing if the right pieces are put away for the quarter glass, have to first make sure of that. I have absolutely no idea of the value of these parts, seriously, none. I`d first like to make a few calls on that. I couldn`t find a pic that big Mike posted, so I`ll re-post my pic with tags to each individual part (it won`t look real professional like others I`ve seen), then by the reference letter or # you can tell me what you need so there`s no misunderstanding. It seems to me you need more than 2 pieces (per side) It`s coffee clutch day today so it won`t be till this-afternoon. I`ll be with several car guys this morning, I`ll run it by them, get some input.

Back from coffee, had a good morning, we meet at different places weekly to see what others are up to. Was nice to see this when I walked in, saw it when it came in , early april, lookin good !! but now back to the task at hand, Several of the guys looked at the pieces from the quarter glass, most agreed donor car only items. I did get some phone #`s of vendors they use, I`ll try a few. As far as price, "whatever the market will bear" "can only sell them once" a lot of good that does me. But anyway, look at the pic with the reference tags, decide what you need and we`ll try & figure something out

I'm thinking I only need (B) and (C) pieces for both sides. I have everything else. My windows don't have the guide ear on the (I) piece (bottom of window) so I'm guessing I don't need that, and my car doesn't have attach holes in the side panel for the (D) piece. If the nylon guide on (A) piece aligns the front of the window, and the (C) channel aligns the rear of the window, it should fly.

I am so confused by what you have I can`t tell ya ! But me being confused is nothing new. I`ll wait see if someone else chimes in, but I think by lifting the window by the lower right corner of the glass, and having a guide in the upper left corner, is only going to cause the glass to rotate counterclockwise if you try rolling the glass up and bind in the channels.
Get a picture of the channel on the bottom of your glass, check to see if there was a guide at one time, is there a roller guide attached to it, somethings not right here.
On second thought, I think by not having the guide rail it would have more of an effect when rolling the glass down,

I took some pics of the bottom of my window, and of the window installed in the channel. (For some damn reason, Photobucket didn't want to cooperate and upload them.....that's what life is like on dial-up!) Anyway, there haven't ever been any guide attached to the bottom of the window, nor to the other three quarter windows I have....all the same. I installed the window in the car, hooked up the controller, and inserted the nylon guide in the vertical track. Window rolled up and down fine, guide stayed in the track just from the weight of the glass. The rear of the window was wobbly, but I think if the rear guide you're showing was installed, that problem would go away.

So I guess were not going to see any pics then? Do one more thing, measure from the front of the glass (on the bottom edge) to the center of the hole where your regulator lift arm attaches.

I sent you the pics in the email.
From the front of the glass (on the bottom edge) to the center of the hole where the regulator lift arm attaches is 14 1/2 inches.

Didn`t see the info on your site, but do have that style at the barn in Michigan, nothing similar, nothing usable. But talk about a massive piece of cast crap hanging from the bottom of that glass. I`m going to send the "kid" from kansas both styles, he`ll figure it out

To sort of put this post to bed, Postcar sent me the quarter window channels this week, including the upper channels with the "block" at the anchor point. None of the "pop-in" points aligned with my channels, nor did any of the screw holes, so I removed the pop-ins and attached both of the channel runs with screws. I needed to drill holes in my inner quarter panels for the upper channel anchor point and had to use a 3/4 inch wide spacer between the quarter panel and the anchor bracket to align everything. Windows work great. Thanks again to Postcar for his time and trouble.....and parts. He's an asset to the forum.

Hay kid, I took a drive to the barn this morning looking for parts for a friend, came across another set of 1/4 glass channels from a 65 post, these are a slight different than the ones I sent you, if yours are in, and working, then alls good. If you would like pics of these W/ measurements I can send some. Also I`m not sure who it was, and my search capabilities here really suck, (SO DOES MY MEMORY) but I remember someone looking for the measurements of the door and quarter fuzzies and outer wipers for a post. I can send pics and measurements if anyone needs them.

postcar, I've got my windows in and are working great...with a bit of adapting. I'd surely be interested in seeing what the differences are in the other ones you found. I had to make spacer blocks between the rear track attach point and the side panel to align things, and drill a hole in each side panel to attach the bolts.
I posted something a while back and you and I talked about the length of inner felts for the door glasses. The ones I received were a bit over 19 inches long (the length of the 1/4 window felts) and I needed felts a bit over 30 inches, which is what PUI is going to send me. Was that what you were thinking about?
Oh, yesterday it was 106 here. Had a small storm move thru last night, and this morning we woke up to 73 degrees. WADDA DIFFERENCE 30 degrees makes! I couldn't wait to get out to the shop! Supposed to stay low 80's all week!!

Ya, I remember that post, like a week or so back. I`m good with recent events, just when they get a month or so old I get fuzzy. I did check my new pieces and they are correct. The post I was speaking of was where someone was looking for info on how the fuzzies and wipers fit near the vent post on the doors, and how they fit by the post on the 1/4 window opening. It was awhile ago, whoever it was they probably got it figured out. Glad it cooled some for you, it was 46 here this morning, high of 68, frost tonight. I need firewood !!

Woke up to 52 degrees here this morning. Ain't life great??? Temp got up to about 70 for a high. I don't think I'm quite ready for frost, but sure would like to see a long, cool fall. I laid in 2 cord of wood last week, if the farmer's almanac knows anything, it says we're gonna have a cool, dry winter. We'll see. I got out this afternoon and blew some paint. Got the bottom side of my trunklid and the cowl panel all painted. Really nice day for that. If weather holds, I might be able to finish blocking the rest of the car this week. Be cool if I could get it painted by the time the weather goes south, then spend the winter working on re-assembly, and interior.

Partshelp442, I appreciate your comeback, but I found a full set of almost cherry side windows a guy back east had. I finished the car in April of 2012, so didn't look back at this post since. Those windows, and the window guides I got from postcar worked out fine. I've got several thou miles on my 442 now and it's everything I wanted it to be....rides and handles like a dream. I will keep your phone no. in case any of my '65 buddies around locally are in need of windows. Thanks again. Marc

Guys I have having to trouble with trying to order rear window channel molding for my 64 post, I know this is an old thread and a lot of the pictures are missing but from what I can gather there is no repop molding for the post cars side windows? I have the original piece shaped like a C that I removed and the is a small metal part that the molding rubber channel runs through bolts to the car on the rear.Thoughts
