therobski: It's been a while since we cussed and discussed this window thing. I tried to read thru it and refresh my memory on it, but CRS comes into play. I remember there were a couple of different configurations of window mountings, and the ones postcar sent me worked but had a bit of re-drilling as they were apparently different than my originals.....which I can't tell you what they looked like as my car was minus them when I got it. I think the difference is in the different years, '64s mount differently than the '65s. Are you needing seals of the tracks themselves? I think the front felts are the same for all post cars, but if memory serves me, the felt over and down the rear side of the window is different. If you need me to repost the pics, I can.

I don't mean to butt in here, but perhaps instead of others posting pics of what "they have" it may make it easier if therobski posts pics of what he needs. If I`m reading his query right, he has the parts, but is looking for replacements? If memory serves me, there are 3 different designs.I personally know of no re-pops. But might try a chevelle or gto sight. I loaded a trailer friday full of stuff to be hauled off first chance I get. I seem to remember tossing those boxes in there. If nothing else I could rob them out of my post, I just shoved it out also!

Yeah, sounds like a good idea, postcar. I'm sure nobody's making a repop for them, at least there wasn't about a year ago. You can get the felts, but no tracks.

Ames does sell these parts for sedans (what they use for post cars) and they sell parts for 4-door cars as well. They may be your best bet for these parts. Remember, a 65 Pontiac has the same greenhouse as our Olds. Everything from the top of the doors up are the same.

I think I ordered my stuff from Fusick. I bow to your superior knowledge if you say '65 Pontiac stuff will interchange. I do know the 4-dr '65 Olds back window is smaller than the post car. I remember that the first set of interior rear window trim I ordered that the side pieces were short. I called them about it, and they were ordering the wrong stuff, reordered a new number, and the side pieces were the right length.

Here some pictures and questions that I need to address. The body left me the task of re-attaching one one painted aluminum trim pieces for the side window, any ideas looks to me you would off the clips put them on the piece? I tried one clip and that did not work or I'm doing it wrong.I order from Ames F225H Glass channel weather strips- 8 pieces, inside and outside for the base model Post car Tempest. They are different styles but these are clip on like the ones I have so they should work. I could not find an Olds supplier with these direct fit. What kind of weather strip molding did you guys use to re-line the vertical vent window sash that the front window rides up and down on and the rear window vertical piece? I have two different types, not quite sure which one works. Then I have a 2 rolls of window re-lining material, unfortunately I bought this crap a long time ago for other Olds projects and have no part numbers

Couple more pictures, that type of roll in weather strip seems not to fit properly or you do not push it all the way down inside the second channel. Sorry the one pic is a little fuzzy. I do have the parts I just confused as to how what to use. Problem is the body shop took these parts out because I did not have time to keep running up there, they took no pictures either. And I believe I may the correct weather strip for the front doors, see in the corner in the door how do you fix that, were the door frame make the 90 degree bend. The last question is do you use the same front door weather strip to re-line the side rear windows? ( except for the vertical strip?

I seem to remember that JC Whitney had a listing for the outside rubber squeegy trim, im sure it looks different then the originals. Mine are wasted, the outside of the windows have been sealed shut years ago with rtv or someother black gunk. I dont think the rear windows have been rolled down in 35 years. Its on my list of things to do, i would love to adapt a power unit and convert the cigar lighter to a single switch that operates both windows at the same time. Im thinking total repaint in the next 5 years, that will be the time to address the seals. Really interested to know what works for you.

Scott I will update the thread very soon and get the pictures up! I learned a lot from the guys here but some things have changed (for the better)since the thread was started but my front and rear window installs are not finished yet. But I seem to have bought all the correct weather strips and moldings. Restoration Specialties rebuilt my vertical window channels for 20.00 a piece-very good job and they carry the hard but pliable window channel pieces in 6 foot sections that you can cut and form into the rear window channel C section and attaches to the part that fastens to the car is available, so are the clips with the very sharp ends that go into the body part on the window channel.

Rob let me know what you ended up using and if not to much trouble venders and part numbers as I will be doing this over the next coming winter
