My old man worked in a foundry all his life. Now he recieves his retirement checks and puts a lot of it into the car I bought for him and I, a 1965 Olds 442, It was on his bucket list. Not what kind of car but restoring a classic car with his only son. So far one of the best parts or this restore is screwing around with you guys and i have only been here a few months. My dad comes over and reads all of these and laughs his ass off. So I'm not pointing fingers just having a good time. However nice to meet another member POSTCAR, Someday I will give you a hug.(I think you need one)

I actually just got an email from rods442 he told me that he is finishing up his run of scoops and side bars, however they are all spoken for (must be some other 65 olds 442 site) LOL. I emailed him back saying when one of the olds 442 owners who collects social security can't afford it to give me a call. J/k. But this is a plus and a step in the right direction, right?

My apologies I had originally read it wrong. I thought all the years would be combined not put in separate categories. Next Time "I'll Bring My Glasses So I Have Them."

I fully agree about the popularity of the 65 vs 64-66-67. Do you really want the forum getting so big you eventually can't keep up with all the topics and you start to really only associate with 8-10 other owners. Im a younger 65 owner, (younger not young) and I look to you guys for info that most people these days wouldn't hand out for free. Its nice to have a question answered in minutes rather than days. The bigger this gets the longer it will take for some great answers.

If your wanting to expand you should only expand to the 64-65 guys since many of the 64 guys keep up with a lot of the 65 discussions. Start small with adding only 64to the forum and see where it takes us who knows it may become overwhelming to keep up with even the new member 64 traffic. Slow and steady to still keep it a tight knit family so to say. No to 66-67 but only for now.

When I was growing up me and my old man would spend the entire weekend looking for shit at a swap meet. Now it seems like a bunh of scrappers trying to sell you something they know is broke or stolen. Car shows even are crap, maybe 100 cars, walked through it in an hour.

The last two days I spent were wandering around jefferson county swap meet in wisconsin to find any thing my olds could use. Since when has a swap meet went from bartering new and used car parts to selling barbie dolls and homemade bird feeders, those folks out in jefferson have turned that thing into a 100 acre rummage sale. Maybe one-quarter was actually new or used parts, I know 65 parts are hard to come by but I walked around that place for a total of about 20 hours and all I saw were two tail panels (heavily pitted) and one front grill that was missing a mounting tab, asked the guy who had about 6 high lives down before 10am how much for all 3, he says no lower than 800$. Last Time I will be attending that Rummage Sale, oops I mean Swap Meet.

You should keep checking ebay weekly. I have what you need but they are not in great condition (pitted and in need of rechrome) rechrome can get expensive.

Is that just a side job hobby or his full time gig cause the pics of his stuff I viewed looked real good. I know ebay has scoops all the time, in fact right now but for those nos vs repop I would choose repop . ebay auctions, scoops usually go for bout 275-390 so I've seen lately and they look like complete shit, if I'm going to put 8-10 grand in my 1500 dollar purchased car than I'm willing to spend 500.00 on some scoops or what ever else he decides to create. I really wish he would design a full set of exterior chrome pot metal. iIf Any of you guys have a good full set let me know. I do have my own set but I'm missing drivers side front molding before wheel well. you have an extra let me know.

Hey guys Ive been trying to get in touch with rods442 who makes all the repops, you know side scoops, moldings, deckled panels, etc. I emailed him 2 weeks prior and no reply, maybe I have wrong email address. Does he still do business in 442 parts or did he have to put it on the way side?

Thanks for info however according to fusick manual it only contains inner and outer (fuzzes). I m not reading anything about the outside rubber sweep, this is where I'm confused since the set i now have fits on my car but the window has about 3/16 of play from inner fuzzie to the outer rubber sweep.

Have new exterior rubber and new interior fuzzes but I went to test fit and the outer gap from window to door seems real far away. I'm guessing I'm missing some chrome piece or something. anyone know what I'm missing, and what its called.
