I am sorta a newbie here as well, and I am somewhat surprised at how quiet this board is, I am thinking many of the regulars no longer visit here.

I live 2.5 hours away, but have somebody in NJ picking it up for me, will drop it off when he makes the trip here to buy a different engine from me. Yes, the CL guy is a creep, as we would say in Brooklyn!

Well, I finally got this engine, the 400, I did not pick it up yet, but it is mine. The CL seller told me he would hold it for me. I talked with him on Tuesday. Emailed him back and forth about 6 times, requested pics because at $75 I thought it was probably too good to be true. I Finally get the pics on Sunday night. Monday I ask him if Tuesday is good time to pick it up, he says yes. Then the wife tells me she has a dr appointment, so Tuesday is no good, I tell him this in email Monday. No response. I call him Tuesday morning he responds, "Uh, it's sold, the wife made me sell it".
New buyer puts it on ebay same day, I email him and explain that the guy sold it out from under me, he says I can have it for $400 because he is a good guy. I decide to wait out the auction, I bid with 2 seconds left and I win for $277.55

I googled the part #, and it lists the emblems as for the '64. Would the holes on my 65 need to be redrilled to fit this emblem. I heard something about the 64 and 65 mounting holes not being the same. Any help would be appreciated. The 1964 442 emblems had staggered mounting posts

He is a good guy! I would hope to find a car that needs almost nothing,, my days of doing full restorations are over.

hi vinny, welcome! i love your hurst olds, saw it at the olds dustoff in merrick. i go there every year, you may have seen my car there , its a black 66 442 trak pak with red interior. i am also restoring a 65 442 club coupe right now. if you are serious about a 65 there is a guy on this board selling one. hes a good guy,he goes by the name boba65442. regards, gary. Hi Gary, thank you! Yes I know and love your 66!!!! I am sorta serious about one, I might sell the 68 Hurst/Olds to pay down some serious debts with enough left over for a 65. What do you know about the one you mention? Thanks again, Vinny

Hey everyone! I am Vinny from Long Island. I have a couple Olds now; a 68 Hurst/Olds and a 62 Starfire convertible. I joined this board because I am craving another 65 442!
My first car was a forest green 65 442 holiday coupe, a/s, p/w, auto, buckets, console and a host of other options. I was 14 when I bought it. Then about 5 years later I had a 65 post coupe in red primer with a 67 E block.... both are long gone.
Anyone have a nice 65 442?
Also, how come there is no link to members cars???
Thanks!
