Still haven't figured out the make on this, came with the car. That base is offered by Summit for about 17 bucks. I ran a Performer with a 1" Spacer, 3" filter and a 1" drop base for a while, I am now changing to a Performer RPM and will be running the same base you have pictured and a 3" filter, I shouldn't have any clearance issues seeing that my old combo fit fine!

I am considering selling my current rear end. It is the stock 3:23 posi rear end out of my 1965 442. It is in great condition, I just need to change my gear ratio to 3:73-4:10, and I would like to cut a rear end down to reflect 55" flg to flg. Rather than buying a new carrier, gear, disk brake kit, cut it and order new axles, I think I would come out ahead just to have a new rear end built and sell mine. Is there a market for it? what would it be worth? Any interest?
Thanks

Old Aire Products! I am running their kit on my 65, it works GREAT, easy to install Etc. I also called Vintage Air, they were very arorgant and didn't seem to want to take the time to talk to me about a kit for the 442.

I have The following items for sale, all very low mile parts! Some parts I listed previously, I apologize for the duplication! Magnaflow 2-1/2 exhaust. This kit is Stainless and runs from the headers to the tailpipes. It has a 3" 3 bolt collector flange reduced to the 2-1/2" X pipe. It only has 531 miles and is in great shape with the exception of one of the tail pipes that turns out right behind the rear tire has about 3 inches cut off, it comes with 2 other magnaflow tail pipe kits that have never been installed. www.summitracing.com/search/brand/magnaflow/part-type/exhaust-systems/make/oldsmobile/model/442/year/1965?SortBy=Default&SortOrder=AscendingPaid 615.00 plus frt.....350.00 plus you pay freight I will ship it any way you like that is feasible. Used water pump, worked excellent when removed, Personally I have no use for it, send me a 6 pack and the frt! Accel Stainless plug wires and R & D Wire looms, the looms have been bent and one of the plastic wire holding blocks is busted, probably a 5 dollar fix but they still function fine. $30.00 plus frt Edelbrock performer intake, has had some minor port work done, it has been drilled for a PCV valve. SOLD1) I have no idea what brand this is, this was the original cam (not original factory) that came in the 455 when I purchased it. I need to clear out some parts and get ready for the new. I will try to describe the parts as accurately as possible! 1) Edelbrock Performer Aluminum intake, This intake has had a port drilled in to it for a pcv valve right behind where the water neck bolts to it. It has been ported, to what extent I do not know, all the ports are smooth but I do not think any material was removed, it looks to me to be "smoothed up" I am not selling the water neck with the intake. 100.00 plus frt 1) Set of the GM Tall aluminum Oldsmobile script valve covers. The covers have not been drilled for baffles but one of the covers has had a side outlet installed for a PCV valve, The will need to be painted, they have been smoothed to make a painted finish look better, also Andy could polish these and they would look fantastic! 100.00 Plus frt ******SOLD****** 1) I have no idea what brand this is, this was the original cam (not original factory) that came in the 455 when I purchased it. The engine and trans are just about out... Hopefully Saturday the engine will be sitting on the engine stand. I will be making some changes to the engine its self such as.. 7 qt oil pan, windage tray, new roller cam from Cutlassefi somewhere around 250/605, the heads and intake are going to be CNC ported. On the cosmetic side, I am going to repaint the entire engine bay, change valve covers, powder coat the block, fabricate some accy brackets and powder coat them also.

I had the opportunity to speak with Art Carr yesterday. All I can say is that is one STAND UP guy! He already has a new transmission headed my way! no charge, no freight, no hassle. I am still going to pull the engine to make a few "changes" I hope to have it ready by spring time!

Its been a while.... I opened a new supply house this year and have been SLAMMED!!! I took the car out yesterday, it has 537 miles, mashed on it in first, the tires went up in smoke, spun through second and i eased off as it shifted into drive, as I slowed down to the red light when the transmission downshifted into 1st it made a horrible sound, It almost sounded like a tire rubbing a fender well, I obviously busted something in the 200R4 but not sure what, Ohh well out with the motor and transmission for ROUND 2
I hope everyone had a great summer!

A new video of it in action! Ok, so what kind of range do you have with the remote? Can I sit on my deck and mow the backyard, it's about 75 feet from my deck to the farthest part of my yard. Mike..... No problem mowing 75 ft away, I am not sure of the exact range but we are using an airplane remote so its quite a distance!

What a pathetic answer to a genuine question..... Maybe he loves his wife and wants her to enjoy his car..... they make several plastic clip on type cup holders, some fit well inbetween the 442 window, door top, you might find others that will clip onto other interior parts.... As far as growing a pair... REALLY? are you that childesh that you would say soemthing like that to a guy wanting to make his wife enjoy or be comfortable in his car? ? I love my fiance, and i want her to enjot my cars as much as I do, i want her to enjoy trips and events in it, I see his point clearly. I think you're taking the reply way too seriously....... We tend to lean towards "caustic" homor on this site. You can't be thin skinned or you won't have any fun at all. Calling another member "childesh" is childish, but all of us old geezers are a little childish, otherwise we wouldn't be tryin' to relive our childhood through our High School cars. Lastly: does anyone honestly have to be informed that cup holders that hang inside the window, exist. If you've never seen one of those, dump the Olds and buy matching Segways, cause you're definitely out of touch with reality. How'd I do with this rant, Dave? I dont know what caustic Homor is, but I do know this.. the thread starter liked my reply, the answer posted in which i commented about was no answer at all about the question, he wanted to make his wife enjoy his car, I dont know if you are married, but having your wife enjoy your project is a major plus, I built my car for her and I, for both of us to enjoy for miles and miles, I didnt see any smiley faces, or comic tone to any of his posts.

I can`t think of anything you could, or should add to the car. But, I can give you some advise on what you should consider getting rid of !! Probably would be much cheaper if you`d "grow some" What a pathetic answer to a genuine question..... nice work Alan and to add to our original arguement...... Bubba and RamZ, My car is reinforced but needs more, it is cracking the paint at the body seams in the rear, meaning its flexing!
