My next door neighbor when I lived in VA Beach raced for Phillips. I use to hang around his garage on Friday when he was prepping his car for Saturday night. Use to drive my mom nuts, but I loved it.

I’m glad I found this group, I have a 65 442 post model, 4 speed model. I think it’s a F-85 model, but not sure. Came with little to no trim options. Background on this, it was my dads car, he ran a 24 hour garage/towing/gas here in Los Angeles, car got towed in back in 69, suspected blown rear end, ended up needing rear brakes. Owner never came back for it, abandoned it with us, this was real common back then, we went through a multitude of cars, of I was to list some of the cars, you wouldn’t believe me, but anyway. Car had dual quads on Edelbrock manifold and ford galaxy style teardrop hood scoop, and all the rest original. Dad passed a few years later, car went to my sister to drive to high school, then I got it when I was 18. Had engine built, other work, repaired rusted out floors/trunk, paint interior etc. then parked and started to restore, then stored, been stored for 25 plus years, I’m now getting back on it. Have almost everything needed except for few items, I’ll be seeking here later. Will probably be passing it on to my son, he’s 13 now. I knew it was rare, around 3000 or so built, but I see where a F85 4 speed is very rare, how can I tell if it’s an F85

gottago........ALL 65 A body Olds' are F-85's, that's the model. If you don't have chrome then yours is a Club Coupe or a Standard Coupe. Post some pics including the dataplate from the fire wall. If you can't post pics here then email them to me.

I always thought some were F85’s, others were Cutlass, depending on the trim package. I always assumed mine to be the F85 cause it is stripped of all chrome trim except for the front hood and fender opening at grill., and rubber mat
It is a 4V 3427 4 speed car
So being new, how do I post pics, or what’s your email

Your car was a two tone ... Ocean Mist Lower and a Provincial White Roof. It had thin aluminum moulding running the length of the body and the Deluxe Chrome package offered on the Standard & Club Coupes. It also had extra foam padding in the front seat and a 4 speed. Your color combo would have looked like this (Cutlass)

yes, i was aware of the color change and i do have all the "H" chrome,it has the extra trim on the tail panel above and below the spears.the previous owner took several liberties with this car,i got it with an olds 350 and a saginaw 4 speed in front of a 67 bench seat and holiday door panels and rear arm rests.it now has a 66 442 400 and a muncie.too much for me to bring it back to original.just trying to make it a respectable driver.worth noting the chevy pilot bushing had electrical tape around it keeping it in the automatic crank!!!
