Getting ready to pull the body today. First time so want to be sure I have everything ready. I've removed 4 body bolts on each side. Two on the front of the frame, one in the middle and one by the rear tail pipe hanger. I notice two additional rubber pieces that look like they are pushed into the frame but no bolts? One is behind the middle body bolt but just ahead of the rear tire and the other is on the front side of the rear coil spring. It looks like the body is just sitting on these two pieces? Aside from fuel lines, brake lines, etc. Am I missing any other frame to body pieces and do I need to do anything with the rubber pieces mentioned above?

For each side there are the two in the front, the one under the door, two rubber isolators (under quarter window and on rear kick up), one behind the tire, and one at the very rear crossmember.
Body sits on the rubber isolators, no bolts. Make sure parking brake cable is removed from the front footwell, where it comes up thru floor.

Thanks, found the one by the bumper..... as life would have it all came out except for one. The drivers side behind the wheel is just spinning so looks like more time and patience is needed.

You'll most likely have to cut a hole thru the back of the wheel well to slip a wrench in to hold the big square nut. They're boxed in with sheet metal and tear loose or rust easily. good luck

Samething happened to mine. I got out the cutoff wheel and cut the bolt.

But you still have to get to the nut to repair it.

Yeah I did that when I replaced my trunk pan. I just didnt want to cut things up until I had set out my plan.

Need to replace the trunk pan anyway so sounds like I can get at it that way?

Up here in the land of snow and salt I've rarely gotten the body bolts out without liberal use of the hot wrench (and a lot of cussing and bruised knuckles) Sounds like you didn't have too much trouble with most of them. Could you post some pics of the teardown and give us updates on your progress?

Up here in the land of snow and salt I've rarely gotten the body bolts out without liberal use of the hot wrench (and a lot of cussing and bruised knuckles) Sounds like you didn't have too much trouble with most of them. Could you post some pics of the teardown and give us updates on your progress? This has been a western car and everything looks pretty good for a forty + year old car! Frame barely has any pits and lots of original paint still on it. Also found a pretty unique (aka country) way to pull the body all by myself ;D

Well, looks like the Kubuto is a handy tool, I've trees in years past but I never had a tractor to use, too bad I don't have a use for a tractor. did the job thats what counts, looks like your on your way, good luck and keep us posted.

Hey Brian, looks like you got her handled. I can see why I didn't hear from you Saturday for the hub caps. Bigger fish to fry for sure...we'll hook up later. Looks like your not all that far from me as far as the process/stage your at. My frame has gone through the sandblasting stage, paint, suspension back on. Now I'm under the body scraping and cleaning so I can slip the frame back under the body. Good luck!!
P.S..I had to cut my bolts off too. Saws all worked great.

SUCCESS!!!! Thanks RAMZ, that link helped. They key is that there was absolutely nothing under the drivers door. I even had a magnifying glass out and looked maticulously and couldn't find so much as a scrap. However, after reading the post, I looked at the transition area by the drivers side back wheel and struck gold. Here's some pix. Area where it was found VIN from the car Frame VIN
