Does anyone know or have a Hollander book showing which vacuum powered trunk releases interchange? Just curious as to the release itself not the switch.
Thanks in advance!!
Nick

I'm sure it was used on all A-Bodies of at least 64-67. There may have been a part/supplier change in there somewhere, but even if they did it should still bolt up and function properly. That's the kind of part a company like GM wouldn't fiddle with between divisions, they would just order 250,000 of the things and be done with it. I'm fairly certain any unit for either A-Body from certainly 65 - 66 will work. According to the research I did for the unit I bought to put on my vert, if they came with the remote trunk latch option, the car came with a round Vac-tank that mounted on the firewall. There were other options that usually required the vac-tank as well, but the remote trunk did as well. I have a vacuum diagram routing around here somewhere. I don't remember off hand if it is on my old computer, or if it came as a hand drawn thing for Les Flaisher whom I bought some of the remote parts from. I see if i can find it as I'm rummaging through my stuff.

There are many vacumn trunk releases and vacum canisters for sale for our 65's. The hard part to find is the linkage that is between the trunk lock and the vacumn switch. Instead of one long piece between the two, there are two shorter pieces that are connected in the middle with a small round disc. It is about the size of a nickle maybe a bit wider. It's a bit hard to explain. I have added this option on two 65 442's over the years. The correct linkage is a challenge to find. GOOD LUCK.

That is sooo true, If anyone has an original linkage I would love to borrow it for maybe 2 or 3 days, just so I can figure out how to reproduce one, or two, well maybe a few.

Thanks, Bob, All I need is that fancy linkage!! There is a pretty good picture on page 12-42 in the CSM. It is two flat pieces of metal with one end that has a L that hooks to the lock, and a straight end that goes into the vacuum latch. The round piece in the center is a ball swivel that acts like a u-joint, sort of. I think I have one, I'll check.

Fancy looking thing isn't it. Well if you let me engineer over it for a week or so I would appreciate it. I know I said a couple of days but that looks like I might need to sleep on it for a day or two. (And Bro/ Ramz, that doesn't mean I'm going to put it under my pillow)
