LONG TIME NO POST, picked up an engine today. nothing wrong with mine, its a lumpy olds 350, but always thought a correct date 425 would make a nice home under the hood in front of the muncie. well along comes a completely rebuilt, cast april of 65 425. bored .040 over,9 1/2 to 1 for our shitty gas today, heads done, some kinda rv cam, never ran, with all receipts from a local respected builder. and check out the carb! appears to be a 4gc with removable jets! nice score. needs a good cleaning. been sitting a while the numbers on B heads dont tell me much

Stan, it would be neat to know what " big Olds " that 425 came out of. Do you know the 6 digits in front of the B on the engine block? My 425 is definitely stamped '67 and with 389244D on the block. BRO tends to think that it was possibly out of a Toro. I'm sure the 425 will set you back in the seat appreciably more when you stand on it.
