Thanks BRO, since my cars are my daily drivers, this is getting important to me. I can smell that it separates certain materials in the carbs, since they where not made to handle them.

deeply agree to Joe Padovano All the mods I have done to cars in the past never made them more reliable or serviceable than when they where factory stock, or at least close to factory stock
my 65 442 is actually a car driven more or less daily, original engine, trans and even carb.
very reliable car and fun to drive

That is the way I do it always and never had a leaking problem, just take a good quality RTV and leave out those rubber gaskets that come along with the gasket set but I agree, dry install first and measure!
For more than street use, you can dimple the manifold or the block or both, but it will be troublesome to clean next time you take it apart...

I used a set of the boxed lower control arms from Fusick on a 64 Cutlass. Looks nice, fits good, I just felt they may have use a little soft or thin material, since when you thighten the sway bar, you can pretty soon see the bolt leave a mark in the control arm.
I have seen, the ones from Fusick are about 220 $ the pair, the ones from inline tube go for more than 300 $ the pair. Does anybody know if there is a difference between the Fusick parts and Inline?

I got my pump from Fusick and the 3/8 line fuel-pump to Carb is available from inlinetube.com go to Brake and fuel lines choose your car, easy pick Pump from Fusick was for AC car and fit well, 3/8 fuel line may need some minor adjustment As far as I know there was no 51/16 fuel line for the 400 engine, only 3/8 got also the fuel line tank to carb as well as the brake lines from inline tube works well Attachments:

Take the block down to zero deck and then all you have left is the .040 of the felpro gasket.
If you still want to go higher you can start milling heads, that` s what I do

I would stay away from the China crap. Does not feel nice if you have them in hand, and they leak. It comes down to whats under and whats over. The M/T valve covers are about the tallest that fit under a power brake booster. And if you have H&S Roller rockers, stock valve covers with baffles won`t fit, except you take the baffles out. My favorites are stock! and the next are the M/T`s, but nice ones usually are not cheep. below my 455 in a 72 Cutlass...

With the help of Bob Jones and BRO the christmas present is gonna take it`s way to Switzerland! original 65 400 cu inch block and crank, so I can leave my old engine in the car until the replacement engine is going to be done. 65 A-heads from Dick Miller Racing are already waiting here.

In my opinion, if you want to be able to take off the valve covers to adjust valves, there is not much of a booster to be used.
go with manual brakes, thats what I did when it was necessary to run a set of tall Mondello valve covers.

have been working more on the cars of other people than on my own. but hopefully this autumn I will manage to get the engine of my 65 rebuild. It still runs but feels like, well it`s 52 years old... thanks for everyones contributions to the forum, always enjoy it even when it calms down a little Got myself a daily driver, 84 cutlass cruiser, and otherwise drive my 65 442, the 72 Cutlass and my 71 442 as daily drivers. got no other reasonable vehicle anymore live is to short to drive anything else than an Oldsmobile
