Finally getting back to this project after sitting for several years....I did a search and have I have been reading past threads and Bro's explanation on what motor mounts to purchase...I am installing a "F" Block 455 in my 1965 442 with manual trans...measured from center line of top two bolts on frame motor mount pad to center of bolt hole for motor mount...measures 1-1/2" so if I understand correctly the frame pads I have are SB pads so I need to purchase small block motor mounts....next question, is there a preferred vendor to purchase from...it was mentioned in a thread from the past that NAPA sells them...looked it up and it appears to me that they are selling a one size fits all...anyone have a suggestion as to where to get them?
also need to purchase body mounts, core support mounts and trans mount...last thread I read about body mounts was when RAMZ built the red 442...If I remember correctly he used body mounts from a later year as the body mounts for the 65 didn't fit correctly...is that still the case or is there now a vendor that sells the correct mounts for the 65?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Once again, I really wish people would stop calling them "small block" and "big block" mounts. Every single 1965-68 Olds A-body with a big block used the same 2261-style mounts as did the small blocks. Every single 307 installed in an Oldsmobile used the 2328-style so-called "big block" mounts. The motor mount bolt holes are in exactly the same location on every single block Olds cast for the 1964-1990 model years. The only difference is in the frame pads. The mounts need to match the frame pads. Also once again, nearly EVERY catalog lists Olds motor mounts incorrectly, including those of Olds specialty vendors. A 1965 Cutlass/442 with the original frame pads uses 2261 mounts no matter what block you are installing.
Note in the photos that besides the location of the bolt that holds the motor mount to the frame pad, the 2328 mounts tuck down lower and wrap under the pan rail. The 2261s are completely outboard of the pan rail.

Joe,
As always thank you for the quick response and the informative illustration...I guess I was just using the terms mentioned in earlier posts and the technical section on this site...no matter, anyway what I am looking for is a reliable source for the part I need...does anyone have a good source for the 2261 motor mount.
thankyou

I bought a set of 2261 at Napa and rock auto. they were the same I am sure same manufacturer Napa was 13 bucks each and rock auto was 8 bucks plus shipping. I got them with other parts and paid less then 20 for a bunch of parts shipped so I don’t know actual shipping cost for just the two mounts.
