Don't mean to hijack the original members post but Have been following this thread regarding springs as I have a similar issue, looked on the Eaton site and I can see the standard duty and heavy duty springs listing...which one is used for the 442...also since my car has a rear axle from a later year, 68 to 72 "P" type BOP with the raised lip spring purchase do I get springs for that axle or does it make a difference....thanks....again I apologize for jumping in on the original poster's question...

Bro is spot on. Suggest you call Eaton Detroit and discuss with them. I did that, they are really helpful people, and gave me excellent advice. I went with their "Heavy Duty" springs, car rides stiff, and is very responsive. Recommend you replace all four, your old ones are really shot by now. Car will be restored to original height as well. Car drives better than my brand new 65 did when it rolled out of the showroom. They recommended great shocks too.
