I'm looking for the drivers door exterior window sill stainless for my car (65 Old Cutlass Holiday). The one on the car has some very deep scratches.

Are you talking about the code C molding that is on the top of the door?

Big Mike and Stan thanks for your replies. I'm not sure if this trim is called "C" molding or not but it is the exterior stainless trim that attaches to the doors window sill and the window sweep attaches to it. It's an option on the Holiday model.
Stan do you have pics you can email me and what do you want for this trim?

The door sill trim is called the "C" option. It is located in the 4 column on the dataplate. 4VC (w29 option and door sill trim) 4HVC (w29 option, door sill trim & thin beltline trim)

I think the C code trim is harder to find than the H belt line stainless. You should know that they made stainless C molding and anodized aluminum C molding. My Cutlass convertible had 3 pieces of stainless and one piece of aluminum. I checked my stash and I don’t have any extra pieces.

Big Mike,
Thanks for checking and for the "C" molding info. The scratches on mine are deep and it appears that yellowish brass or bronze can be seen at the scratches.

I assumed that this trim was stainless but a magnet did not stick to it. Anyone know how to remove scratches and polish this trim?

I assumed that this trim was stainless but a magnet did not stick to it...... Depending on the alloy, a magnet will NOT stick to stainless steel.

Stan, Which one is for the drivers side? If it is in better condition than mine I may buy all three pieces or just the one if you would sell it. It is hard to tell the condition by the pics since you say they are scratched up. How much plus ship to Florida 32129?

theres some good you tube videos i just watched, restoring aluminum trim, easy off oven cleaner to remove plastic coat then hand sand and polish with paste, re seal top with Wolfgang metal sealer, i tried sanding off a bit of the plasticote and it repolished quite easily. seems the hard part is keeping it looking good because it will oxidize again without sealing it

Thanks Stan,
I will use the easyof and 800 grit and wet sand the scratches. I'll get a paste for polishing and a sealer too.
Thanks again, John
