Does anybody know of any place that sells new gas tanks complete with the filler neck?

I'm in the same boat you are...I will be putting a new tank on mine also...what I understand form searching around a few vendor sites is that no one make a tank complete with a filler neck for the olds...you will need to reuse your old filler neck...from what I gather they are soldiered or brazed on so they come off and can be re attached fairly easily...
maybe someone else has better info...

First, you might want to move this to the tech folder or parts wanted. There is company/companies that advertise in Hemmings they sell gas tanks with necks. This would be the print edition of Hemmings. I just checked the latest edition of JWO and didn’t see any listings.
But as mentioned any radiator shop can can solder the old neck on the new tank. Most folks like to get American made US Steel tanks like the originals and reuse their necks. Folks have said the ones that come with necks already are cheaper and with thinner walls. I don’t know firsthand, never had one up close and personal.

I have the '64 Skylark tank, it came with a neck and seems to fit fine.

I have removed the old necks and soldered them into new tanks many times, just need a propane flame and some solder.

Thanks guys, I was just bein' lazy and hoping to get the tank with the neck. We have a good source for changing out the neck. Just didn't want to go through the process.
Hey Mike, you still kickin'? Thank's again for the help with the shifter!!!

Hey Mike, you still kickin'? Thank's again for the help with the shifter!!! Im still here, trying to get back in the swing of things from vacation and dealing with flooding because of all the rain. I had to get a septic company to suck up all the water around our beach house. It’s been nuts. Almost 20 inches of rain in just over two weeks!

Vacation, Beach house, What the heck are those things??? Could use some of that rain here though. Hope your safe and dry though! It was a gift, sort of. My grandmother, my dad's mom, passed away and left everything to her grand kids since my dad passed before her. My younger brother and I took our cut and bought a beach house rental in ‘99. My wife and I bought my brother and his wife out 12 years ago. Doesn’t make money, but that’s not the point. That place is the best blood pressure meds out there!
