I am looking at a 66 Cutlass. Data plate number. 1st line----023. 2nd line ST. 66--33817. BF. 01085. 3RD Line. TR 995. C 2. 4th Line. C08. 026837 Vin Number: 336176Z114872. If anyone could help I would be thankful. VIN: 3 = Oldsmobile Division 38 = Cutlass 17 = Holiday Coupe 6 = 1966 model year Z = Fremont, CA assembly plant 114872 = sequential serial number Cowl Tag: 023 = look again. This should be the build date code, which is two digits and a letter. I'll assume it's 02B, which would be second week of Feb, 1966 ST66 = 1966 model year 33817 = Oldsmobile Cutlass Holiday Coupe (same as in the VIN) BF = Fremont, CA assembly plant 01085 = Fisher Body sequential build number (not related to the VIN serial number) TR995 = also, look again. 995 was the trim code for a red conventional bench seat, but that was not available in a Holiday Coupe that year. Bucket seats would have been standard, which would have been a 985 trim code for red. The Custom Sport bench seat (with fold down armrest) was a no-cost option on the Holiday Coupe (RPO A65). C 2 = Provincial White with Black vinyl top 026837 = sequential number only used by Fremont plant.
