Can a pair of 65 400 B-heads bolt onto a 72 455?

You mean 65 400 "A" heads right, and the answer would have to be yes, the basic difference between the two is the angle of the lifters. You might have to check clearance on the pushrods. I had to open the pushrod holes when I put the "C" heads on my 65 400 block.

The heads are stamped "B", and supposedly came from a 65 442 vert. Not a 65 motor? Though Bro's site said it could be "A" or "B".

I was always under the assumption "B" heads were 66's. Anyways I would still dry fit the heads and see what the pushrod holes look like. If they are B heads I think you should be ok, either way it's not a big deal to make them bigger.
