I have a car that had romex and electical cord wire patches. I am jus trying to get to the point where I can turn the key and energize the starter. (then I will work on spark, etc.) I began at the starter. It is good (maybe not the strongest, but functional). Once that was re-wired with good terminals and mounted I checked that it would engage when I shorted the purple wire to the positive terminal on the fender well. So far…ok.
Then it goes through the fire wall. When I turn the key nothing.
I will check the red wire at the ignition for power when the battery is in.
This car has a floor automatic console. Should I take the neutral safety switch connector off and short it with a piece of wire to take it out of the equation?
Does the pink wire go to a fuse and coil? Brown looks like a radio connection. Purple to saftey switch. brown to regulator. Are there other circuits or fuses that affect this (trans pitch switch, etc?) Lots of questions, hopefully lots of answers!
