Did Olds paint any 65 330/400s blue? My 330 is very low miles and definitely blue. I see another 65 on Ebay now with a blue engine. Was that factory?Did it mean anything?

330's were gold - 400's were bronze - 425's & early 455's were red - later the 455's were blue but who knows there were always exceptions or so people would like you to believe

The small blocks were always gold, the only blue Olds engines were 455's. If that engine is a rebuilt unit that was replaced at some point, many rebuilders have their own color they spray their rebuilt units, ATK engines used to always be painted blue no matter what make they were. And then other rebuilders will paint the engines one of the colors a manufacturer used, such as the blue used in the 70's on Olds 455's instead of having 3 or 4 colors on hand. Then of course engine color is very easily changed and a matter of taste.
