I'm selling my convertible, and figured I'd try the forum here first. It's a real 442(not a clone) built in Lansing, Michigan. The trunk and floors are rusty, but brand new full length floor pans, and a new trunk floor are included. I found 2 small(no larger than a quarter) rust spots on the frame just behind the LH front wheel. It doesn't appear to be anything serious, and doesn't affect the structural integrity of the frame at all. The lower 1/4s have patches from another car that were riveted in place by the previous owner.
Car has P/S, P/B, and Originally had an automatic on the column. I swapped the original column with a correct replacement because the original one's threads were stripped(the original is included). Also included is an extra rear bumper, tail panel trim(original is dented), and fuel tank. There is also a rust hole in the pass. side door, and so an extra door is included also. The tail panel has been dented, and I believe it is fixable, but I'm also including an extra full tail panel cut from a parts car.
The car now has a 12-bolt rear axle, but it still has the original boxed control arms, and rear sway bar. The rear seat frame is there, but is not in very good shape(it might be fixable, but I'm not sure). This car needs total restoration, but is not a total basket case. Besides the axle, This car is very original(it even still has the factory crimped exhaust tips).
All trim is there except for one piece of the bucket seat side trim.
There is no windshield, but the windshield trim is included. The few other parts that are missing are the seat belts, inside rear-view mirror, the latches for the convt. top., and the 442 badge on the tail panel.
I'm asking $3,800 for it. It doesn't have a motor or transmission in it, but if anybody is willing to pay the asking price I will include a correct '65 442 400ci engine(complete minus the water pump, air cleaner, and distributor), and a 2-speed Jetaway transmission. I would rather keep this engine and trans, so I'm open to any reasonable offer for the car without the engine/trans. included. The engine would need to be rebuilt for sure. I haven't torn it down, but It won't turn by hand.
Ask any questions, and if anyone is interested, I can post more photos. Thanks for looking!
By the way, the original colors are Target red with white top, and red interior.
