I might be in trouble for posting this, but my little brother who also posts here is getting things in order to sell his project convertible. I am wondering if anyone is willing to pay a fair but low price for this rough-but-worth-it project car. He is going to keep the hardtop, and honestly hates to sell this convert. Here's the deal:
It is a real 4V code 1965 442 convertible, originally red. Comes with a correct '65 only 400, needing total rebuild. It may be the actual motor it came with... I don't know. It has the usual rust, and the convertible top is restorable but messy. Also the car comes with it's original column and a much better factory column installed. The rear is a 12 bolt, and it doesn't have shocks. The car comes with extra doors, original poverty caps, all the original emblems and a complete new trunk kit and full floor panels.
We hate to see this car go, and I guess I would like to know if anyone is willing to pay what it's worth to him. We think $4,000 is more than fair, and also realize it is a very rare car requiring total restoration. It is definitely not what my brother wants to sell, he just has to. Any chance anyone would consider close to 4,000 bucks? Any ideas?
The car also has all of its trim, and the factory original 442 frame. Body has not been off, and lower 1/4 panel patches are test fit on with rivets by the previous owner. The car still has its original exhaust manifolds, and the engine still has its carburetor but no distributor or water pump... The original exhaust tips still sit on the car... Any ideas are appreciated...
