I have posted this on ROP and OP and gotten a slew of answers but all just guesses. This car is a '65 F-85 and these things are under both of the front bucket seats. Is there an official name for them and what they do? It is an air-condition equipped car. Deflectors?

Scott, I think it is an air deflector for the heater when it is in floor mode. I have seen it in all of the A/C cars I've had and I'm prett sure it was on my non A/C parts car too.

Both my non a/c parts cars had them. No idea what they do. My Cutlass Holiday Coupe and Cutlass Sports Coupe both without AC had them as well.
