Just to let every one know, I've recently started producing simple machined parts, e.g., engine crank girdles, fuel pump block offs, windage trays and working on a two piece timing cover kit. I'm looking for simple products which can be easing machined/fabbed, etc... If there is enough interest and or need, I will look at the cost of prototyping out parts and beginning a small production works.
Taking ideas and or recomendations.
Thanks,
Ted...

I would really like a cheap tremac type transmission. Five speed would be nice, or I could make do with a 6 speed if I had too.

How good are you at machining, 3 or 5 axis, some aluminum side chrome would be nice, or tail-panels.

Well, I can always take a look. It would be several weeks before I can make that determination. Parts would have to be CNC Surface Scanned and then programmed in.
Not sure I can help you with the Tremec...

I'm sure the side chrome would be a good business for you if you could make it happen for a reasonable price.

Pricing would be the key. I have no idea what the market would support as far as cost... What are your thoughts on retails pricing?

You would maybe have to start with an easy one like the door piece, how much do you think it would cost to have it surface scanned and once you have that it's material and machine time. Those are basically easy to figure out, your cad program or even machine should give you the machining data(time). Chrome work shouldn't be too bad, as long as the final surface finish was done well. I would think that you would have to get $300 to $500 buck's a pop.

All I need are samples... You got to be kidding me, you have no chrome samples, OMG. If the weather is good this weekend maybe I'll dig the green bomber out and we can meet on Woodward or something, and I'll bring a couple of pieces with me. You are in the general area aren't you Ted?

Yep, no samples I sold almost every spare I had with an old 65 clunker about 4 years ago, pieces were heaviliy pitted and I didn't see myself where I'm at now. Haven't had any spares since. I'm in the Clarkston area, so I can meet most any time. I was just down on Woodward Friday Night. Beautiful night to have out the 65. Ton's of cars and people! Ted
