My 455 currently has a Edelbrock Torker Intake/Holley 650 DP, and a mild cam. For street driving, would it be worth the time/money to change the intake to a Edelbrock Performer? I know what the basic differences are, but how much of a (real world) difference would I feel with the changover? Or do I leave well-enough alone?
Also, my 455 is currently GM blue, and I want to paint it the bronze color. The engine will remain in the car. Any tips on preparation? Do I simply scrape off the old loose paint and degrease?

if you have a mild cam, you would be better off with a performer. you can cut the center divider on it to get a little more top end out of it. see the engine mods you can do at home thread on here on how to cut that if you want to.
what are you cam specs? i think you would see a big difference by putting a bigger carb on it as well. that 650 is too small.

Get the engine as clean as you can so the paint will stick. Clean clean clean is the key.
