Ia starting to put together my motor and a have some parts to find first the mains and the crank.This motor has been torn apart for 25 years sitting in the garage with no help.What I can not find are my mains just wondering if anybody has any extra.I know where the crank is and I guess they are easy to come by for parts.This is a 65 400 442 motor. Try to put back to stock

That's a doosy of a question, I know I've seen 455 mains for sale (aftermarket) don't know if their the same though.

Whatever you do align bore the new mains/saddles since the originals are gone.

Thanks miksan I would start here; www.supercarunlimited.comThey sell used and reconditioned engine parts for 65 400 engines. They carry a pretty comprehensive parts list for our engines.

i would love those and a blower* but those are DRCE heads... if they are they wouldnt fit a factory olds block. note the canted valves and bbc style exhaust ports... Yes, they would be useless with out a block, nice heads though. they were in this beast until they drove it through the barriers going about 200mph...

Thanks guys for the info,I know about the align bore but the SOP ? knew to me.Sense this motor is staying stock is there anything that i can do to help the cause in hp and torque.

A mild Hydraulic Roller Cam will provide a big boost in HP/Torque over a stock cam and still provide you with economical fuel mileage.

Thanks miksan Sorry for the acronym, SOP= standard operating procedure Also a set of headers wouldn't hurt with a good intake manifold and carb. Other than that the engine should run good for what it is. My stock post 442 runs damn good and it all stock with the stock Rochester 4GC.

Hey know problem, Jeffy.I still have the cam that warren johnson, did for me years a go back in 82 I was thinking of using that but i can not remember the numbers on it.But for right now I doing the bottom end so let me take this ideas and get started and I will be back for the next step.
