Just need someone to help me with my facts. It is my understanding that "C" heads with the large valves have better flow (CFM) characteristics than any other Olds factory produced heads, A through J. Can someone confirm or refute this for me with a facts link.
Thanks
Ted

Some say the RAM air D heads are the best, for the money without going to a good set of aluminum heads C are the way to go. I also believe there are two different C heads all doing with valve size.

the 65 442 and 425 4bbl A heads without the egr bumps are the best flowing as factory cast heads. i would say D's and F's would be next due to the lack of heat cross over ports(i think they dont have them?), and then big valve B's, C's, E's, and think a hand full of G's had big valves i think. they all flow out pretty close to the same. you can put the big valves and open the bowls in any bbo head and they flow out the same as well, except smogger heads. I am not sure why papa joe loved the C castings so much, possibly due to availibility through several years of production? they are really no better than any of the other 2.072 intake heads.
