Are the headlight bezels stainless? And are they supposed to be a fine brushed finish?

Headlight bezels are anodized aluminum as bubba points out. However, question for the masses, do you need to anodize the aluminum? What does it do for the pieces? Ive been working on taking out the dents, scratches and polishing some of the aluminum post pieces that someone sent me some time back. Once you get through the anodizing, they polish up to a mirror finish so once you get them polished should you get them anodized or can you leave them?

Its done to seal and harden the surface of the part. Thanks Jason, any idea how spendy it is? Also, do the pieces need to be perfect or does the process fill in small swirls/scratches?

What process are you using to get threw the anodized layer ? my headlight doors polished up to a mirror like finish in no time. the drip rails no matter how long I polish them they are still white and cloudy. I was thinking about hitting them with some steel wool then trying to polish them. any suggestions or ideals?

Used 340 grit sand paper, followed by 400, 600 then finished with 1000 grit. Once I got done then polished with buffer wheel and white compound on the bench grinder. The 340 got me through the anodized cloudy layer. Was a bit of work. Had one hard one that i went down to 280 grit on a bench belt sander. Dont like that as much as it cuts pretty deep but comes out nice.
Ps, you can get new drip rail through opgi at a pretty decent price. Just put some on and it looks good.

It cost me 120.00 to get the front bezels done. The place that did mine stripped them, polished them, and bright dipped em.

Oven cleaner works and apparently this method does too. www.rcnitrotalk.com/de-anodizing-and-polishing-aluminum/
