That is totally awesome! Both the work you're getting accomplished, as well as that you have the determination to not let potential limitations get the best of you, and you continue to live toward your dreams.

Same offset as the spindle set up I had with the '69 Cutlass disc brake set up... which I believe pushes them out a bit. Not sure if they make a drop spindle for a drum brake set up.

my correct headers were deluvered yesterday, I have to say I had them installedin about 20 minutes and they fit great, I can however see that if we don't secure the engine one side will hit the frame under a load.

Make sure you grind the back of the passenger side upper a-arm or youll put a hole in your header.

Mark you struck a nerve when you said "Jetstar" If you ever start looking in that direction look for a 65 Jetstar1, There's a driver in storage in the DFW area that I could look up some old e-mail I was going to make an offer for it but I have absolutely no room for another car without either selling my 67 or paying for storage. To me the Jetstar1 is a Biscayne to the Starfire. The 65 Jetstar1 is a one year only car. Very nice. 65 425 Starfire's a very nice too.

I have a question about timing, when I do the initial start up where should I try and set the timing? I have heard anywhere from 30 to 38 degrees?

I have no clue what you`ve got going for advance and such, but to be safe, static time at 10 btdc, your dynamic will probably be in the 30`s. You can set static prior to fire with a light if you want to get it real close so you don`t blue your headers, it`s more work. But regardless, get your dynamic set as soon as possible after fire. Your going to have a lot on your plate after fire, so have a helper who`s only job is timing.

I will double check but I am pretty sure I have about 6 degrees, When you say time it with a light before starting are you talking about turning it over with no fire?

I apologize, when you spoke of timing in the 30`s I thought you were referring to base, since you were referring to initial start up. 6 is good for static. your dynamic is going to depend on several things, as I`m sure your aware. And as far as static timing with a light, just as you would imagine, pull all plugs, insert plugs in the wires, positively ground all plugs to block, crank with starter and time to your desire. But if your confident you`ve got it at 6BTDC you should be good to go. I never had much luck at base timing without the light, don`t like fire out the carb, burnt eyelashes and the damage it all can cause. Not to mention that it makes you look like an amateur. The engine should just sit there and run without all the belching and fire coming out of every orifice. Good Luck.

I looked and looked, for a radiator, I will not do a cheap junk build, i talked with be cool and griffith, the 700 dollar price tag just shocked me, i seen on pro touring and several other forums where guys were running champion radiators. the feedback on the radiators was extremly positive, i still wasnt sold, so I called champion direct, their radiators are made in cali, the guy i spoke to was very sharp about 442's he guarenteed the radiator would fit and cool my 455, he went so far as to say, if it doesnt fit perfect and cool your car i will give you all your money back even after you run it, it arrived today, and wow its a great looking piece, i took it to the machine shop, to pressure test and chack the welds, its perfect. 241 dollars for the fan and radiator wow, the elec fan motor is made by the same company that makes griffins fans --- do you use one fan, let me know how much inch the fan have (16"..?)and how much row? www.championradiators.com/page/407019732
