Look at how that car sits, ass low slightly, looks like brand new, springs aren't wore out, all you anels out their better take the air out of those air shocks or put 100 lbs of sand in the trunk. Don't worry about them yellow marks on firewall or those racing stripes on the driveshaft, it's all in the stance. ;D

This one shows ass up a touch, front low. My guess this pic is of the optioned 425 (those xtra horsies weigh some) The pic in the showroom has a lard ass in the back seat and another guy leaning on the mid quarter

Look at that door to fender gap, man that would get picked apart now with a restoration. So all of you doing those "perfect" all stock restos, go reset your door gaps.

The more I check out this picture the more information it really shows us about our cars. Most folks use redline tires while doing a "correct" resto, this car has nice white walls, not too fat, and not too thin. Check out the tail pipes, someone was complaining that they pointed down when they installed theirs and wondered if they were defective, right off the showroom floor these pipes pointed down slightly. Again, something that might get picked apart by a judge, but here is rock solid proof the way the tail pipes should look. You know this guy didn't say; "hey, point those pipes down a bit would-ya" It's a great pic. It still amazes me where you get these pics Jasen.

Red lines were standard. Whitewalls were an option and the cars could have been built with whitewalls and shipped for sale on the lot. A lot of them had whitewalls, the drive thru car has them too. I wouldnt do it because the red lines look so much better and whitewalls arent exactly a muscle car type of tire.
Youre right about the tail pipes, one of mine is correct and the drivers side goes straight out. Its just how it went on at the exhaust shop, I really need to fix it but Im lazy. Notice how bad the fender to door trim lines up. The fender trim went on with the fender, no way to adjust it once its on the car. A lot of them looked like that. Stuff one wouldnt replicate in a resto because its looks like crap.

Speaking of red lines, look where the line was on these original Firestones. People scuffing the tires on curbs made them move the line inward towards the wheel. 65 redlines were in the outward location too.

The one at the drive-up window looks like it still has a paper plate on the rear, but the caps have been removed already, unless this was at the dealers and they hadn't been installed yet.Not sure how it was done back the ,but when I worked at Subaru ( ) that stuff all came in the trunk.Of course, the cars were also shipped as deck cargo and covered with cosmoline... Very nice early dealer pics-but we need more of the street driver smoke-em-up type. Maybe I can do some new ones in black and white, but I don't quite look the same.Get my kid to drive,my yard looks like 1965 or so.... ---bil
