well i started on the grill first tried the plastic kote steel-wheels too dark. so i call eastwood and ordered 1 can eastwood detail silver and got ding ed for $21 and some change ouch (shipping was 9 dollars and some change) what a rip-off .

The color you are looking for is called Non Smudge Aluminum. It is the same one used on our instrument panels. It is available at teh paint store in bulk or they can put it in a spray can for you. Incedentally, the black grill in the above picture appears to be painted incorrectly.

Incedentally, the black grill in the above picture appears to be painted incorrectly. Its not all black, its the camera flash causing the chrome to darken.

Hey Bro, I got the paint information for the I/P color from the '65 assembly manual, page 39. The way the information is listed leads one to believe that the heater and radio delete covers came from the maunfacturer unpainted so they list the color so they can be painted to match the rest of the I/P. They call it "Argent Silver" but that was just what the "Refinished-Mason" manufacturer called the color at the time. PPG calls it Non Smudge Aluminum, Dupont probably calls it comething else, etc.
An Oldsmobile Club of America model year advisor informed me that it was the same color as the stone/splash shields adjacent to the grill/headlamps area.
