Actually, I am a Michigan person.....I don't care what the southern Republicans do or what the northern Democrats do....neither are doing what it takes...the fat cats are doing what they have to so they can keep their hands in the till. I just chose to become a full time RV'er. Eight years running ..... I use my '65 442 to Tugg around my 31 foot travel trailer. I have the opportunity to decide where I spend most of my time. All I am saying is that this bailout money...no matter where it has gone it is still not arriving at the "people level" How about giving it to the local agencies so such things as schools can be built..just analyze how fast new jobs would create demand resulting in the flow of money verus sustaining jobs in a carry-over mode. Construction jobs, college educations for the teachers needed to fill the positions, maintenance jobs and all the resulting jobs created that will now allow the products built and sitting in storage fields to be bought?? Now and only then will the supply and demand be kicked started and the whole auto industry will bennefit. Now all that is happening is just "we have the money, but we have no demand to consume what we have already produced. So if we keep giving it to the banks...nothing is going to change. Nothing would be better than creating a "change" that would allow the consumer to be able to purchase and purchase and spend and spend...I just don't see this being possible with the direction we are going...........that is what I mean by "rethinking" This is just only one of the many different ideas I think should at least be considered......The auto industry and all of its workers and suppliers would be best rescued by a "Huge purchasing demand" versus bailout money that doesn't result in the productions lines producing.Maxx Tugg
I agree with most of what you say Maxx, but right now we have got ourselves painted in a corner so how do we get out. And until we get out do we let the foundation of our manufacturing ability die? It's a double edge sword that our boys in washington pretty much got us into. At this point in time I'm not sure anybody has the answer to get people to start spending again.
