I thought someone with a good eye might spot it...I dont really want to sell it so I wont be disappointed if it doesnt go...I have another 65 that is pretty much identical except that its a clone and is going to be on the road this summer as a full time driver. Having two and not having the deep pockets of some people means one should go. And Im not getting any younger at 55.
The 442 is the easiest to sell and the toughest to lose....Its hard when you get one so original ( like the mint original tinted windshield). Im almost afraid to drive it lest someone smack me or a rock hit the windshield.
Then there is the temptation to bring it back up to snuff....repaint, detail the frame etc etc...Where does it end...It would be better off in a nicer climate where it can be driven year round.....parking it for six months sucks...Anyway, we will see what happens...If it doesnt go I would like to bring it down to the Nats this summer and spend sone time in the area..

Mine lives in the garage 6 months out of the year also but it makes it more special when it gets out. Mine is a frame off(not by me) and I drive it as much as I can. But you have to do what you feel is right. Could I borrow those wheels and tires, I think they would go good with Forest Green.

Scotty,
I remember seeing your car on eBay in late Oct 2007. I printed a couple of pictures. Must have been just before you bought it. Your car stands out because its original and loaded with options. I don't think I have seen another one with as many options. I bought my convertible in mid October 07, also with many options and if I had not bought the convertible I would definitely be interested in your car. I hope you get to keep it or if you need to sell it you get your price for it. It's an awesome car.

Thanks Bob...the closer i get to spring the more I want to hang on to it....Having it on Ebay did one good thing..it put me in touch with a previous owner who knew the complete history on the car...It was a one owner garaged car till 1983/84 in Willmington Delaware when it was sold with 33K on it...buyer had it for a year or so then it ended up at Delaware Olds where it sat indoors for about 10 years in the back....the owner had plans on racing it but never did...put no miles on it..and then it move to a couple of owners who also babied it...and I already knew the rest of its history....Nothing like getting the history of a car

Well I hope you hang on to the car. It would be difficult to find another like it. I still have a hardtop I bought in 1971, I was 16 years old and it was my first car. I drove on and off for years and put it in the garage around 1982. Its still there. I hope to start a restoration next year. Of course time, money and space are always a concern. I have 4 65's now.
The rims on your car inspired me to buy a set of knock offs that look very similar to yours. They are dated 1965 so hopefully I'll get them on my hardtop someday.
My convertible was on ebay last summer. One of the previous owners found out I had the car and called me with the history. He knew the car because of the options and told me the car was purchased in MD for the dealers wife. He had the car in the late eighties and sold it when he went through a divorce. The car was also tied up in an estate. Its interesting to track the car's history if you can. The car came with a list of previous owners so I have most the information.
Thanks, Bob
