At the rate things are going I'm liable to have plenty of time to put it together, but I may not be able to pay the electric bill.

Bag and tag, don't throw away anything that you think you can get until you have it.

I got mine powder coated along with 70 other parts and I think it is one of best decisions I made. It costed a little under a grand to get everything sand blasted and powder coated but I think it is well worth the investment. The frame and parts have a smooth durable finish.

Hey, that frame isn't boxed, but the data plate has the 4V, what's up with that? 4V dosen't get you a boxed frame. It gets you the 442 frame, with it's proper gussets and such. Hell if it was that easy to get a boxed frame I'd be one happy camper.

Hell if it was that easy to get a boxed frame I'd be one happy camper.I know the 4V is actually just the body piercings for the side scoops, but don't all 442's of any stripe have an all boxed frame? I know verts do, but all 442's get the heavy duty frame upgrades which I have always believed were fully boxed. BRO, is this wrong? Not trying to stir the pot, just trying to understand.

NO, the fully boxed frame was an option that could be special ordered ( order code-F35 Heavy Duty Guard Beam Frame, same as convertible) .............The standard heavy duty frame was different from the basic F-85. You can find the differences on my sight ....... 442restoration.homestead.com/442BRO_Frames.html

But that info does not mention what you posted above. I'd love to see the Guard Beam frame, vert frame and a standard frame laying side by side for a comparison. I've never seen a 442 like the one on this car. I know, I know i just haven't pulled apart as many as you all have, but that's a surprise to me and one way that the cloners can make hay.

My frame page compares the basic F-85 frame and the gusseted frame that came on the 442. The special order boxed frame (F-35), which is not pictured on the page and was rarely seen on a regular 442, is the same as the vert. The overwhelming majority of 442 frames were the re-enforced/gesseted type. I have never come across the boxed type, except under verts.
