Drivers side door is hard to close....the window glass contacts the seal at the roof to quickly. How do I get the window glass to move outward at the top so as to allow the door to close easier? I have tried some of the adjusters inside the door , but I must be doing it wrong. Seems like there should be a step by step procedure for proper placement. It is a glass issue ....the door closes perfectly with the window rolled down and I can see that the glass makes contact to soon with the seal at the roof line.

How is the alignment of the door, is perhaps the bottom outboard slightly which would make the glass hit the seal too hard upon closing.

The glass adjusters are on the front and back of the door. When you open the door youll see two chrome bolt heads, those adjust the window track. Not much but some. On the front edge of the door are two more, those adjust the vent window. On the inside of the door are the vent window track adjusters. Loosen them all and turn the bottom vent window adjuster all the way in and the top of the vent will go out. Its a tedious process to get all the glass right.

Sounds like the time to do this then is when I replace the wingvent rubber. So basically, just have everything loose when I reinstall the wingvent and start adjusting the tracks and adjusters together to maintain position.
Ok,,,,,I am sure I will have questions during the reinstall.

I am not an owner of a 65 442, but my son, jmorris, is. Your adjustment for your door glass is at the bottom of your vent frame assembly and at the rear channel of the door glass. There is a 1/2 in. nut that you loosen then adjust the stud it is bolted to in or out, then re-tighten the 1/2 in. nut. It happens with the older cars that the glass becomes misaligned after wear on the regulator and weatherstrips. I have been doing auto glass for 30 years and this is a common problem. Please e-mail me if you need more info.

Thank you for posting. I am trying to adjust the passengers side front door glass to fit better to the convertible top so this information will be very helpful.
Thanks, Boba
