Thanks guys, but your pictures and progress reports is what keeps me going too . Now I need to decide on the rear brakes, thinking of the complete 11 inch finned drum brake kit from Master Power brakes? What do you think? Then I am going to need some help on bending new brake lines off the Moser rear, and then bend the rest of the way forward, figure out where to mount the distribution block. Install the parking brake cables, Then I am going to restore the radiator support. That looks like a job in it's self!

Those rear drag radials are only on there until I put the body back on. They will never clear the wheel housings. After I get some help measuring for tire size I may get Wheel Smith to make me two new factory looking rims so my dog dish hub caps fit and get the biggest tire in there. I think I can stuff a 295 60R 15's in there. We shall see.

The Moser is the same length across as the old type 0 ten bolt, I think 56 inches plate to plate I can go measure if you need to be exact.

no need to measure, i thought those tires looked huge and i was just curious if you narrowed it all. i was supposed to have a narrowed rear, but they sent me one with the stock width. so, i was going to have us wheel make me a set of 4.5 steelies for the front and 8 steelies with a .25 deeper backspace in the rear so i could run the dog dish caps and still have a tall skinny in the front and 275's out back. these cars looks so tuff with dog dish caps. your progress is looking awesome man, keep up the good work. that car is going to be badass oh and btw, if your running headers, the proportioning valve is best positioned on the top of the frame. i cant remmeber if you were the one who was running extrude honed w-z manifolds or not? even if that is the case, still might be the best place especially seeing as how you dont have a clutch linkage getting in the way.

Yes I am either going to extrude hone the W-Z's or buy a pair of those larger port W-Z's. I will post pictures of the brake line set up and the position of the valve and the distribution block. I think you like the results.

PRYBOY you may see it someday. This is going to be my cruiser, racer, autocross car all in one with the A/C on. I don't think it will be ready for 2012 Power Tour but you never know. I don't know if I mentioned the car will be painted the 64-65 Target Red. I have the original rear section of the vinyl flooring need to start locating the front section and the two rear panels (GOOD LUCK RIGHT), and for now the original granny red/maroon vinyl seats are going to be cleaned up reinstalled.

Why's the adjustable proportioning valve pointing down? Seems like where you put it would be perfect to have the knob come through the floor pan so you could adjust it from inside the car, plus it would protect it from getting hit, like with a cone if you plan on auto-crossing (I see the fancy suspension work).

I used the same proportioning valve in my drag car, except I drilled a hole and ran the knob through the floor under the seat.

BR I have a stock 330 restored 3 core automatic trans radiator, do you think it will cool the 400E with vintage A/C in the Texas heat? I'm thinking no way The only thing that needs to be done is have the lower inlet tube switched over to the passenger side.

I have been in dissussion with a few fellow gearheads and made a corp. decission based on their feedback. For now I am going to move forward and install the 67 400E that I have sitting on the engine stand and build the "badboy 425" later. The point being use up what I have, It's an internally stock 67 400E, maybe 5K miles since the overhaul that came out of my 67. It's does have a performer, 800CFM Edelbrock, W-Z's, Morroso pan, 65 A-heads, RobMac mini starter, HEI. Ran great when I pulled it. That said I just sent out the 200R4 but having it built to support the 425 later on. Just will change out the converter. I am just getting started to mock up the later model PS/ alt brackets. Also getting alot of the parts sorted out for powder coat, media blasting, cleaning and polishing, and or rechroming. Right now the core support, headlight assemblies, grill parts are all being restored and in front of the line because the restoration center may be calling for the rolling chassis after Thanksgiving. I want the motor/trans installed and the core support on when they put the body back on-Then I will be stoked but out of cash when I pay his bill!!
