Anyone know who might rebuild radio & clock, or have another solution (like a substitute?). Ralph

Ralph, there are lots of places that will put a new digital radio inside your original shell that will give you AM and FM and the buttons still work. This is one that I have used.. Bill Abate1257 Wonderland Rd. Roslyn, PA 19001

Yep, get your stock radio converted. You get modern sound with the original face. Clock kits and rebuilders are on the net. The kits make them work but eliminate the "click click click" movement.

All this time I thought yours was still working on Oldsmobile time. Wonder how long it took for them to crap out originally.

I don't think they lasted very long, if I do my other one it will be a quartz movement for sure. Man! Anyways it never tells the correct time, I disconnect my battery when it sits and I never reset my clock, so WTF. Anyways You don't need time when your in the time machine. Oh! that's the convertible. <stuck in time>

Time Machine? I've heard of "back to the future", so yours must be "BACK TO THE PASTURE"

I met this fellow at Carisle this year. Mike Frenchek 717-367-1428 / Retoro Radio Restoration Elizabethtown PA / converts orginal radio to AM FM stero with a jack for your I Pod or MP3 player. Looked real nice, 4 month turn around at $395 per unit. Anyone know if this is a reasonable price? www.retroradio.biz or email mfrenchek@retroradio.biz

Jeff (or anyone else), The website you gave is asking for the Mfr. Are they Delco, or did someone else make it? My car isn't readily available ATT or I'd look myself. R.

The Ipod jack is a bonus, mine doesnt have that.

I contacted Jerry at clock works and he quoted the following: "Your clock movement can be serviced for the flat rate of $49.95 plus return shipping. This includes disassembly of the movement, replacement of any worn or distorted parts, oiling and calibration. We only ask that the clock be complete, fully assembled and the movement serviceable. Turnaround time is usually 24 hours and the warranty is 1 year. There would be a $20 coil charge if the clock's coil is damaged from overheating. You can either remove the back of the clock and check this yourself (look for any blackening on the coil windings) or send the extra $20 and we will refund it if the coil is not needed. Installation of a quartz movement in your clock would cost $119.95 plus shipping. This movement should run 10 years without the need for periodic service and keep much more accurate time than the original type movement. The installation of the quartz mechanism will not alter the hands or face on the clock. Please keep in mind that a quartz movement is not original for your clock and may lead to a point deduction should you have your car judged. It is most noticeable in the motion of the clock's seconds hand which would move with a smooth sweep as opposed to the original ticking motion. Conversions carry a 2 year warranty. Turnaround time should not exceed a few days. Return shipping within the US is $12. You can pack your clock up and ship it by UPS, Fed-X, US mail, or any means convenient to you. You can enclose a check or money order, bill the service to MC/Visa, or pay via Paypal (3.5% fee). Be sure to include a street address for UPS return. For the quickest service possible, please include a copy of this e-mail with your clock. Kind regards, Jerry Clock Works 1745 Meta Lakes Rd. Eagle River, WI 54521 Phone:800-398-3040
